Growing up my first memories were of cars and cameras. They have always been a huge part of my life. This page absolutely burned me out on my passion for photography. After shooting and filtering through 200k photos in less than 2 years I was done. I never wanted to open Lightroom again. Turns out that never could be defined as 4.5 years, at least when it comes to picking up a camera. I decided to goof off with the sliders since it had been a while rather than use the filters I developed before. It was fun to play around (the red GTR is the only one that fit my normal style). Thank you @raccoon_with_camera and @mrdrifto for inviting me to R’s day. I had a blast hanging out with you, bumping into old friends, and hearing RB’s roar. (And no, I don’t think I’ll ever come back and shoot like I used to, but you’ll probably see me at Loma Mar, Alice’s, Vista Point, and getting photos from the other skilled photographers that more than filled the vacuum I left behind. A few people have asked me to post about the SCRAMP, Laguna, Monterey situation. No one has been able to provide me with any factual information as to what SCRAMP provided and what the new party will do differently (for better or for worse) and why that is a bad thing (which is the common theme of the requests I receive). People are very passionate about SCRAMP, I would love to hear some facts about this situation. Please educate us with some facts, pros and cons. Doing a bit of reminiscing today. Seems I’m always too busy to edit photos or go out and scout or shoot - but I miss it... 😕. . Here’s a throwback photo of one of my favorite local e30s. It’s painted my favorite bmw blue & has all the ‘right’ mods for a clean build. It’s all done very well with a nice attention to detail. A small post and minor update... . I took this shot while scouting new locations with @theapexchannel . We missed the golden hour. I saw the scene in the rear view mirror and thought it was worth trying - so I yelled at him to stop and we gave it a shot. I grabbed the wrong lens, forgot it had a cpl on it... tried to save the photo in post 🤷‍♀️. Sometimes I love it... sometimes I hate it... . I dedicated this week to non-stop job hunting and resume slinging. No great results yet. Hopefully I’ll have more time to scout next week. I have a few more places to try. . A few people that haven’t seen my stories asked about old photos that haven’t been sent. I intend to send them all once I have time to start editing. The job hunt is more time consuming than I anticipated. I won’t shoot till I have time to edit. I won’t create any more backlogs once I finish processing this one. The Update: . BayRoadsAP is a project I started out of a deep passion for community, mountain driving, and photography. I absolutely loved doing it and miss it quite a bit 😕. . So, if I love it... why did I stop... and why haven’t I returned? I was working on it 60-80hrs a week and rarely took any time off. Classic burn out. It’s hard to be passionate when you are exhausted. Now... I’m job hunting. This doesn’t leave me with enough time to return at the moment... . The future of BayRoadsAP: Things will be a bit different. Once or twice a month I’ll provide new place to meet. It’ll be a chance for you to get shot, explore a new road, and meet new people. Update: I’ve had to deal with some non-business issues the last 24hrs. Finally editing again - but only have a few hours today before I need to deal with other personal issues 🙄. I’ll try to cut through all the DMs today. I probably won’t shoot this weekend, my neck is still messed up and I need to spend time editing and job hunting... I’ll be at Drift Central the following weekend and should be out shooting with no backlog towards the end of the month. - If anyone is looking for a Product, Ops, or Project manager with a decade of experience with a start-up (SAAS) let me know... (yea, bit non traditional way to look but why not? 🤣). Welp, day 4 of my neck being absolutely wrecked. Seems to be getting a little better finally. I’ve started sorting through last weekends photos. Should be done later this evening. Out of commission: I strained something in my neck/spine Thurs/Fri, seemed fine enough to shoot Sat, but woke up a bit more sore Sunday. Didn’t think much of it and lifted a few small things in the afternoon. I’ve been laying/sitting on a heat pad more or less since. If anyone else has any advice let me know... haven’t really done anything since. Yesterday was awesome! Thanks for chasing me all over mountain everyone, it was a lot of fun testing new locations - lots of duds, but a couple good ones too! It was super fun giving the old clapped out 70-200 f2.8 a run too, it managed to sling out a bit of 🔥!
