Jengo Studio March and April - a mixture of activities, prepping clay, plumbing first fix, service penetrations, air tightness membrane, and making battens from the reclaimed timber
Jengo Studio Week 8 - floor insulation, boarding and stud partitions installed. With thanks to Shelley Building giving the project such a boost for the last two months.
A busy week 6 on the Jengo Studio, lots of roof woodfibre being fitted with complex shapes thanks to the table saw and Henry is not happy! The roof light is in and looking great, and how not to fit a piece of woodfibre with one hand while holding a phone… 😵💫
Week 4 Jengo Studio very frustrating involved a lot of digging to resolve drainage and blocked service ducts and laying of new gravel on the drive. But Charlie’s beautiful reclaimed brick path is a thing of joy 🤩
End of week 3 of the Jengo Studio. Clay plaster levelling coat nearly all on, wood fibre started, reclaimed timber prepped and screws/nails recycled, floor, door and threshold preparation progressed - electrician lined up
Jengo Studio end of week 2 (with help from Shelley Builders) - mezzanine joists in, Back to Earth insulation system on site, below ground drains in, walls being prepped.
Resolving to visit the wonderful projects I have been designing over the past five years - lovely to see Llama Croft and Hill Croft looking beautiful and taking their finished shape - thank you to Bert and Janna for the tours!
Week 1 of 2026 of the Jengo Studio retrofit. Existing fermacell and plasterboard all safely removed and stored for later, everything else stripped back to the blockwork, reclaimed joists sanded, nails removed, and ripped down ready for the mezzanine. Window openings adjusted, new windows ordered.
