I wanted to take a moment to re-introduce myself. My name is Mikayla Baumgartner and I’m a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Bowie, Maryland, currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
My practice revolves around creative expression through material experimentation and process-driven making. Working mainly across textiles and ceramics, I explore design, construction, and transformation as they relate to human experience.
With a background in fashion and visual production, my approach is informed by a strong sense of storytelling, technical precision, and attention to detail. I aim to develop deep expertise within mediums while continually pushing their boundaries.

what to expect:
▪️a blend of somatic & vinyasa yoga principles to create a fluid, grounding movement experience that invites deeper connection to the body, breath, and nervous system. closing with a guided meditation practice.
▪️a fun, grounding and therapeutic floral arrangement workshop. you’ll be learning some fundamental floral and design concepts, color theory, and will take home your very own arrangement. Mikayla founded D’oro Studio in 2018 as an experimental creative studio. rooted at the intersection of intuitive practice and conceptual design, its focus remains in connection, material, shape, and process.
