As per the recommendation of our hashgacha, we no longer produce dairy in our kitchen — while continuing the same trusted standards and elevated Yom Tov foods you know and love.
But in the spirit of Shavuos, I still wanted to share something special.
So this year, I’m sharing one of my all-time favorite cheesecake recipes — originally given to me by Naomi Goldstein years ago. Simple. Classic. Creamy. The kind of cheesecake that quietly disappears slice by slice.

🍷 CAST IRON “SHORT RIB” SQUARES à la @batyaskitchen x @primebyari
aka the fake short ribs that fool everyone

INGREDIENTS
• 1 (3–4 lb) French roast
• 1 red onion, sliced
• 1 Spanish onion, sliced
• 6 garlic cloves, sliced
• Salt + pepper
• 1 packet onion soup mix (≈3 Tbsp)
• 1 bottle (750 ml) red wine
HOW TO 1. Preheat oven to 300°F 2. Cut roast into 9 squares 3. Sauté onions → add mushrooms + garlic 4. Push aside, sear meat 2–3 min/side 5. Add soup mix + pepper 6. Pour wine, bring to simmer 7. Cover + simmer 30 min 8. Bake covered 3 hrs 9. Rest 30 min → serve
