Today we remember Wing Commander Geoffrey Page on his birthday ✈️
After being shot down during the Battle of Britain in 1940, he survived devastating burns and later became one of the founding members of the Guinea Pig Club.
Beyond his service, Geoffrey Page’s legacy lives on in a profound way. He was the driving force behind the idea of a national memorial to ‘the Few’. His vision helped inspire the creation of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust and the Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne.
Our replica Hurricane at the Memorial is painted in the colours of the aircraft he flew when he was shot down. We remember him not only as a Battle of Britain airman, but as a man who ensured the sacrifice of his fellow airmen would never be forgotten.
