Meet the acts for our upcoming gig on 13.05 at the Exchange 🔋🔋 Battery Point, a band from Bristol, UK, formed in 2022, has quickly made a name for themselves with their unique fusion of post-punk, jazz, and folk. Their music is characterized by driving rhythms, intricate guitar work, and melodic lines that are both haunting and uplifting. The band’s name, inspired by a scenic spot in their hometown, reflects their local pride and connection to their roots. The band members share a passion for pushing the boundaries of genre and narrative in music, drawing inspiration from their surroundings and personal experiences. Their love for literary classics and storytelling is evident in their lyrics and musical arrangements. Their latest single, “Sardines,” released on September 12, 2024, exemplifies their blend of styles. The track explores themes of forbidden love, drawing inspiration from literary works such as Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge and Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina.
