What started as a dream in Soweto has now taken shape in Braamfontein. Our flagship store opening last Thursday was more than an event — it was a statement. To dignify Africans through style and reimagine what local luxury and retail in Braamfontein looks like. Visit us at our new location: 68 Juta Street, Braamfontein. - Shot by @katography_sa #boysofsoweto

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others.” – Nelson Mandela Over the past few weeks, we have been walking a journey of purpose — donating school shoes to learners across Gauteng, Limpopo, and KwaZulu-Natal. In honour of Mandela Month, we did what we do best: showed up for our communities — because every step forward begins with dignity, confidence, and a pair of shoes. #MandelaDay2025 #WalkYourJourney

The Local Brand Revolution: A Collective Step Forward for South African Entrepreneurship On Wednesday, 18 June 2025, we hosted the Walk Your Journey Series in Polokwane, a youth-focused networking event and platform designed to inspire conversation, enable access to opportunity, spark collaboration and spotlight local entrepreneurship. The event formed part of a national dialogue aimed at equipping young South Africans with the tools and insights needed to navigate the evolving retail and business landscape. Following the event, a significant moment of solidarity unfolded at Mall of the North, where all three event panellists— @theo_baloyi (Founder & Group CEO, Bathu), @djzinhle (Founder & CEO, @erabydjzinhle ), and Thatiso Dube @vuittots (Founder & Head Designer, @galxboy_sa ) visited each other’s stores. More than a symbolic gesture, the visit served as an active demonstration of mutual support and a commitment to the sustainability of local business. Each entrepreneur made a purchase at the other’s store, reinforcing a shared belief in the importance of investing in South African-owned brands and fostering collaboration. South Africa continues to face significant economic challenges. With youth unemployment rates exceeding 45%, local brands are increasingly playing a vital role in job creation, skills development, and community upliftment. Collaboration between entrepreneurs is not merely symbolic, it is strategic. It sends a powerful message that cooperation, rather than competition, is key to economic transformation. By supporting each other’s businesses, these founders showcased a model for building an ecosystem that retains economic value within the country and promotes the growth of homegrown brands. The Local Brand Revolution, represented by this act of mutual support—is a reminder that the future of the South African economy lies in shared growth, brand collaboration, and purposeful consumer choices. We believe this is the future of retail: rooted in purpose, driven by unity, and powered by local investment. This is the Local Brand Revolution, and it is just getting started. #WalkYourJourney #WYJSeries2025

Walk Your Journey Series – Johannesburg Recap Market Theatre, 11 June 2025. The first leg of the highly anticipated Walk Your Journey Series 2025 kicked off yesterday in Johannesburg — and what a phenomenal day it was. The Market Theatre was alive with energy as young entrepreneurs, innovators and change-makers gathered for a full day of learning, connection, and empowerment. The day opened with an inspiring keynote address by our Founder & CEO, @theo_baloyi . With his signature authenticity and passion, Mr Baloyi shared his personal journey, unpacked the highs and lows of building a business in South Africa, and left the room fired up with wisdom on purpose-driven leadership, resilience, and scaling with impact. Throughout the day, Milo, our warm beverage sponsor, kept the energy up and the cold at bay. Their warm, nourishing drinks helped keep guests fuelled and focused as they absorbed all the knowledge being shared. Then came the headline moment — our panel discussion on: “Navigating the New Age of Retail” Featuring a dynamic lineup of South Africa’s leading creative entrepreneurs: • @theo_baloyi (Bathu) • @djzinhle (Era by DJ Zinhle) • Thatiso Dube @vuittots (GalxBoy) Together, they dropped gem after gem on building powerful brands, staying relevant in a fast-changing market, and using culture as a catalyst for growth. The audience Q&A brought bold, smart questions from the floor, sparking heartfelt and honest dialogue that reminded us all why these conversations matter. To top it all off: • 3 lucky attendees walked away with R5,000 each, plus AirPods from our tech partner KhoiTech • Everyone received a free pair of Bathu slides to walk their journey in comfort and confidence A massive thank you to our partners who helped bring this vision to life: Market Theatre | ALX Ventures | @milosouthafrica | @galxboy_sa | @erabydjzinhle | @khoi.africa This was just the beginning. Next up: Polokwane – 18 June, and Durban – 25 June. See you there. 😁 #WYJSeries2025 #WalkYourJourney
