In May 1987, at Heavy Sound in Stockholm, two legends crossed paths during a Bathory signing. A young Pelle "Dead" Ohlin (then in Morbid) showed up to meet his idol, but their legacy would be defined more by mystery and friction than friendship.
An early shot of a much younger Quorthon dating from the first BATHORY photo session in January 1984. Although that pigs' blood might not have tasted very good, it nevertheless did wonders for the visual effect sought after.
A scanned copy of the initial 1983 version of the BATHORY logo.
Hand drawn by Quorthon back in March 1983. The Koch Fraktur font was used to mimic the most common version of the Black Sabbath logo.
This Koch Fraktur logo would nevertheless only be used during a few months in 1983.
Unfortunately a rather poor copy of a shot photographed and sent in by a Swedish BATHORY fan years ago, showing Quorthon while signing autographs during an in-store at Heavy Sound Records in down town Stockholm City on May 29th 1987.
