It’s that time of year - the Big WiT Quiz!🚨
Friday will be our last coffee meet of the year, and to celebrate we’ll be doing a big Kahoot with a huge goose plushie prize! 🪿
We’ll be providing plenty of refreshments and we invite anyone to bring in some baked goods if you’d like (but absolutely no requirement to!). If you would like to bring anything in, make sure to provide allergen information including anything it may contain ❌
We hope to see as many of you there as possible to take a break from the end of year stress, and have some fun! 🪩🧁🍬

We hope everyone has managed to get some rest after the WiTathon the other weekend! 😴
We’re back with a coffee meet this Friday and we thought it would be a great opportunity for anyone going to the Lovelace colloquium, or otherwise, to come share what you’ve been working on! The idea is to have anyone willing to bring along a poster, slides or any material you have (displayed on a laptop), and talk about it to people walking around the room.
This will be great presentation practise for those who are attending Lovelace this year - and you can get feedback from other students!
There will be snacks and refreshments as usual ☕️

It’s almost time…
We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow for our big event of the year! Before all the excitement, here are a few reminders that you might find helpful in preparation 📝
Remember to bring:
* Your tech and any chargers you might need 💻🔌
* Anything you’ll need if you plan on staying overnight (please do note there is absolutely no requirement to, and we encourage everyone to go home and sleep!) 🥱
* A reusable cup so you can load up on refreshments, and Tupperware in case you want to keep food on you ☕️
Also make sure to join the Witathon channel on WhatsApp to keep in contact with everyone during the event - if anyone needs help joining the WhatsApp we’ll be able to help you on the day!
We look forward to seeing everyone for registration at 10-11am (you can arrive from 10am and the event will start at 11am) in the 1W level 2 foyer 🕺
On Monday evening we will be hosting a movie night, where we will be watching Mulan! 🐉
Come along for a social, informal atmosphere with plenty of snacks and friendship bracelet making supplies 🤗
This is also a great opportunity for anyone who is still looking for a Witathon team to come and meet some new people!

The Witathon is a 24 hour hackathon, exclusively for women and gender minorities, that we host every year, and this year we’ll be running it on the 7-8th March 🗓️
Entry is open to students on all courses and sign-ups will begin at the start of Semester 2.

Next week we have a very exciting coffee meet - we’ll be collaborating with the department and student led EDI committees to host a focus group✏️
You’ll be able to discuss your experiences and any EDI problems you have encountered, and this will be fed directly back to the department - it’s a fantastic opportunity to help make serious change!
There’ll also be light refreshments provided… ☕️🥐
