Words of inspiration / Positivity is the name of the
game!
From inspirational messages to fun coloring sheets, our teachers know that MCAS testing can be stressful for some students. Teachers do their best to make the testing experience as positive as possible!
Engineers design, build, and test!
Shout out to our grade three engineers who designed, built, and tested structures made to withstand monsoon and hurricane force winds. Well, maybe not “hurricane force”, but that hairdryer Ms. Silk is holding was definitely pretty powerful! We are always making connections between what happens in school and the world around us.
What a Beacon!
Sometimes, when someone takes a funny photo, it keeps cropping up in different places. This one, for example, is going to come back whenever we get the chance. 🤣 #Just for the Fun of it!
#Center Belonging..Once a Beacon, always a Beacon!
We welcomed these super stars to Bates on Thursday! Recognize any faces here? These sixth graders from Collins Middle School were Beacons just last year. They came back with a very large group of friends from CMS to meet with our PreK students.
They asked the PreK students thoughtful questions in four categories: General Questions; Would You Rather; School-Related Questions; and Connection-Building Questions. They focused on ways they were same and different. The fun continues when they meet up with their buddies at Endicott Park for some fun and games. We love building relationships between our big and little kids!
Important Moving on Celebration Dates 👏🎉. Please note these in your calendars if they apply to your family!
Kindergarten - Friday, June 12, 10:00
PreK - Friday, June 12, 1:30
Grade 5 - Monday, June 22, 9:00
Nothing says, “You’re amazing!” like some cute kindness bunnies! Students expressed their thanks for Mr. Mac by writing him adorable messages in these tiny bunnies! It was very sweet🥰
Ms. Salzillo’s Students Competed in the Olympics
You thought the Olympics were over for the year, didn’t you? Not so. Ms. Salzillo hosts MCAS Olympics every year as a fun way to get kids prepared and excited for MCAS.
Let’s show our spirit!
Nothing makes us smile like spirit days!
Friday, April 17 - The votes are in! The students voted for a stuffie day. Woohoo. Bring your favorite stuffed animals to school on this day. We’re going to double our number of “students”, so we should tell the cafeteria to make more pizza. 🤣
Just for the Fun of it!
Little Stuffies, Big Fun!
Ms. McLaughlin’s class really loves the Beanie Babies she puts out for indoor recess. This past week, some students created Beanie families. How cute is that?
