Bastion Festival 2026 — Thank You 🤍 Bastion Festival came together once again, and we’re still processing how epic it was! – This year the festival was curated from the ground up — milling the timber and building our main stage from scratch, to launching a brand-new site overlooking the wild coastline of Mallacoota. Our regional gathering continues to grow into something truly special, your support means the world to us. Thank you to the local crew and to those who travelled to volunteer and help bring this festival to life — without you, Bastion would not be what it has become: a community committed to sharing great music in the South East. That unmistakable sense of community is what Mallacoota does best, and it’s what continues to shape the heart of Bastion Festival. To every artist who performed, thank you. Your energy, creativity, and care delivered such a diverse and inspiring range of sounds across the day and night, making this year truly unforgettable. Thank you for being part of Bastion Festival ’26 — we’re already dreaming about what’s next! 📷 @dinkum.archives

ANNOUNCING DJ PHYSICAL TO BASTION 2026 A true local icon - Gracing the Bastion stage once again under a new moniker, with a sharpened sound and all the steez. Running the streets by day, running down records by night. The records she puts down pay homage to the original roots inspired by ’90s Chicago and Detroit house, while blending hidden gems and modern warpers. DJ Physical’s sets are all about movement — body-driven grooves you can’t stand still to. We’re incredibly privileged to welcome this local vinyl savant back to the Bastion stage to open the event in style. 💿🔥 We can’t wait to hear what she has lined up for us. Hot tip! don’t miss this one, DJ Physical will be opening the event at 3 pm… do not miss it!

ANNOUNCING OLD MATE TO BASTION FESTIVAL 2026 Our local hero and staple in the Bastion lineup. Your favourite DJs favourite DJ, a man that consistently provides iconic dancefloor moments with his vinyl only sets. Old Mate holds deep underground roots and has been shaping dancefloors long before the hype. Cut from the cloth of Melbourne’s ’90s scene, he was instrumental in running iconic parties like Teriyaki Anarki Saki, alongside heavyweights Simon Slieker, Dee Dee, Slack and Disko Pussy. His sound is cavernous and uncompromising — all killer, no filler. Expect journeys through ’90s tech, booty house and deep techno, with warped moments designed to pull you off course and deeper into the groove. When Oldmate steps up to the plates, there’s no escape — just lock in and ride it out.
We’re excited to welcome the mysterious selector to Bastion Festival’s fourth installment.

ANNOUNCING COBSONICS TO BASTION FESTIVAL 2026 Cobsonics brings his live modular rig to grace the Bastion stage on January 3rd. While this may be his first solo mission to the far southeast ends of Victoria, he’s no stranger to the Bastion stage - having previously lit it up with @birdsnake_worldwide in what was a highlight set of our 2024 edition. Cobsonics’ solo work can be described as Psychedelic-infused dub, downtempo electronica. A head massage of expansive synth work and off-kilter rhythms, all driven by weighty low end designed to get bodies moving in the early afternoon.  Expect a full flex of the D&B sound system as he opens the Bastion stage with dubby goodness, a true kaleidoscope of sounds.

ANNOUNCING DJ SARAH TO OUR DJ LINEUP Very excited for this one! DJ Sarah is a familiar face in any club setting, on the dancefloor just as much as she’s behind the booth. One half of DJ duo @in2stellar alongside Georgia Bird. Together, the 2 have performed at some of the country’s biggest festivals and clubs (Strawberry Fields, Splendour, Pitch Music and Arts) and toured internationally across Europe and the UK. Obsessed with dance music and all of its genre bi-products, DJ Sarah’s sets are varied and fun, with a focus on techy breaks, percussive house music and UKG. A voice and advocate for gender diversity and inclusivity in the music industry, co-creating WIP Project, a free online database used to search for female, trans, non-binary and gender nonconforming music industry talent from all over Australia and NZ. We are stoked to have DJ Sarah join our music programme for 2026!

ANDRAS RETURNS FOR BASTION FESTIVAL 2026 After a stand out performance at our last event, we couldn’t not invite Andras back to the Bastion stage. A well established Australian musician, producer and DJ, Andras has earned his stripes through his unique and unpredictable take on dance music. His releases play with Australian vernacular music traditions, and site at the cross-roads between nightclub and the outdoors. We’re very excited to welcome him back to our 2026 lineup.

INTRODUCING DANIEL AARONS TO OUR 2026 LINEUP Like a magpie at dawn, Daniel Aaron’s music may wake you from a slumber- an indie-blues and roots song man from the bush. He’s got groove tighter than the federal climate budget, rhythm raucous enough for the toilet paper aisle mid-lockdown and style harder to pin than a chip packet in the wind. Centered in earnest lyricism and the rhythm of the yidaki(didgeridoo), Daniel’s songs will have you doting on beloved people, revering the landscape, and dancing whole-heartedly. Daniel Aaron has cemented himself as ‘one of Australia’s finest emerging acts’ and we can’t wait to celebrate his music at Bastion Festival 2026.

ANNOUNCING LAURA LUCAS FOR BASTION FESTIVAL 2026 Laura Lucas finds spiritual shelter and solace within music. The Canada-born, Australia-based singer and songwriter retreats inward and emerges with intimate, immersive indie folk anthems buoyed by candid storytelling and expressive vocals. Her music evokes the feeling of sitting face-to-face with Laura as she reads her journal to you aloud. With fearless tenderness, she unpacks unrequited love, painful memories, and personal transformation. After amassing millions of streams and building a deeply loyal fanbase, she now offers refuge on her 2025 full-length debut album, “There’s a Place I Go.” We can’t wait to see her perform.
