Our adult art workshops at Basing House are a great chance to switch off, learn something new, and create something unique. Choose from an introduction to tapestry weaving - often described as “painting with yarns” - or a relaxed watercolour workshop inspired by the colours of spring. No experience needed, just curiosity and creativity!

Choose from one of two themed sessions: Put yourselves into the shoes of English Civil War soldier or join a Tudor Household and learn through engaging, hands-on activities and self-led discovery.
Sessions are based on our Key Stage 2 curriculum-based workshops but are suitable for a wide age range of learners.

One of the finest houses in Tudor England, and the scene of one of the most famous sieges in English history, it was a real treat to be able to walk the grounds.
Built with over a million bricks, the so-called “Bloody Barn” is one of the finest and grandest Tudor barns still standing in England.
A must-visit for anyone interested in Tudor history and the English Civil War. Basing House reopens for spring on Wednesday 25th March.
