Around this time last year I had the privilege of playing alongside an array of amazing musicians during the AMA Awards Ceremony. Among the many great artists we got to accompany was Candi Staton. What an unbelievable honour and joy that was; something I never thought I’d experience.

As I have neglected posting here in a long while, I’ve decided to treat you all to a little episodic overview of what I’ve been up to during the last twelve months. One of the collaborations I enjoyed the most in 2025 was playing with the amazing @michelestodartofficial . Her set at Glastonbury (Acoustic Stage), and the magical evening we spent at the @soundloungecic in Sutton, were two of the most memorable gigs we did over the course of year. Michele also released a live album, which was recorded at St. Pancras Old Church. Listening back to it, I found myself genuinely moved. A real pleasure for someone who usually cringes hearing herself play. It’s not currently available online, so you’ll need to order a copy from Michele’s website should you want to hear it (please do, it’s worth it!). I can’t wait for future gigs with Michele and her wonderful band.

Basia Bartz @basia_bartz is a Poland-born, London-based violinist with a flair for expressive, genre-hopping sound. Steeped in classical technique but just as much at home in folk, gypsy, and jazz fiddle traditions, she’s woven her playing through Americana, experimental, jazz, and alternative projects, lighting up major London stages and touring across Europe. After years of prolific gigging and recording, she’s now carving out her own bold solo path. This Sunday, though, she joins Peter Culshaw in a global ensemble celebrating the launch of his new album Surrender to Love – freshly picked as one of Bandcamp’s “New and Notable.” It’s a night built around Peter’s visionary blend of sound, travel, and spirit. They’ll be joined by cellist @harvey.1336 Harvey Gibbons, along with a remarkable Ukrainian duo: bandura player and singer @mariampetrovska Mariia Petrovska, and flute maestro @nazarlekh Nazar Lekh. Mariia and Nazar will also play a short set of their own, shining a spotlight on Ukraine and offering a taste of more events to come in its support. The launch takes place at 7pm on 30 November at The Red Hedgehog, 255 Archway Road, N6 5BS. Tickets via the Box Office: 0208 348 5050 or QR code
