🤍Loving You🤍 A short film about the intense emotions of first love. What started as a lockdown project in the sun-drenched spring of 2020 grew into a long and wobbly learning curve for me as a director. I’ve never come face to face with myself so intensely, and I’ve never doubted myself as much as during the making of this 2.5-minute film that started as a ‘fun’ project, but turned into this big monster that played tricks with my ego. Anyway, it’s finished now. It’s finally in the can. And it has made me realize why I love this crazy job so much: Everyone who contributed to ‘Loving you’ poured a piece of themselves into it, and that’s how everything fell into place. So: A big, heartfelt THANK YOU to the following people who all contributed - For the love @maximeklerkx & @jorenpelsma : Amazing filmmakers themselves, but this time, as an exception, in front of the camera. Thank you for your vulnerability, enthusiasm, and above all: your love. @myrthemosterman : For more than 10 years, I’m happiest when filming with you. You manage to capture everything I feel. My filmwifey for lifey <3. @nsaati1 : Without you, all this beautifully shot material would never have seen the light of day. I was stuck, and you breathed new life into the whole project. Thank you for your creativity, sensitivity, and incredible talent. @em_sulli_ @in_klein_ : With your beautiful poem you provided the words that I couldn’t find. @cookie_soph : Your beautiful voice lifted Emma’s words off the paper and into the film. @welovesharkee : I feel safe in your studio, you added an extra layer to everything we see. Visuals are the gun, but sound is the bullet, and you understand that like no other. @joppoindegrot : Dear job, this is exactly the grade that Myrthe and I have dreamed of for years. What a dream that you wanted to do this in your lovely ‘Grot’, where it always feels like coming home. @joananbeaudoin & @basmooijstudio : The titles are the cherry on top of this crazy cake of a film. The last stretch is the toughest, but you gave me the confidence and energy to really finish it. Without you, we’d all still be waiting for it 😂
