Stepping into the ring at Madison Square Garden in 2018, New York’s Jean-Paul “JP” Zuniga found himself at the moment that would shape his career as a combat sports official. With 10 years of officiating and refereeing on both regional and international stages, Zuniga’s dedication and passion for the sport are ever-present at each event where he serves as an official.
The @gammaunitedstates NY State Rep has been a key player in monumental matchups, including the global sanctioning body’s World MMA Championships at the prestigious Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. JP was amongst the roster of referees at @rfc.promotions this past Saturday, where he shared what inspired his path toward refereeing in the sport and his love for competition.
