Parked on a 70-acre horse agistment property on the Mornington Peninsula, this compact 8 x 2.4 metre tiny house grew from the ownersâ desire for a rural escape, drawing on the classic Australian tin shed archetype.â

Josh Murray and Adriano Coppola worked with Sam Bell of Bellhaus Design Office to distil their embryonic 2D vision into a resolved, highly functional design with a strong sustainability focus, running on solar power and supported by an adjacent 10 000-litre rainwater tank, making it off-grid and low-impact.â
â
Built by small space specialists Base Cabin, the interior joinery is precise and durable, paired with linseed oil-finished marine ply and cork flooring.â

In small spaces, material choices do the heavy lifting.
