In February 2026, we had the opportunity to go to Colombia to explore some landscapes and projects. This trips was Patricia’s first time in the country, and she did indeed a great job visiting a lot of different places, including the main city and remote areas, moving through different habitats and ecosystems, from the Páramos -the summit of the Andes- to the rainforests of the Amazonian foothills. For MaFe, this trips was a beautiful opportunity to bring together two of her worlds: the world of landscape architecture in the US and the world of botany in Colombia. In this post, we want to share our interpretations of the spirit of the place, photos of the spectacular Colombian landscape, and a little bit of our work there. We have some early-stage projects, seeds that we planted during our visit, and we hope will soon begin to germinate and grow! These are projects that fill our hearts and make us feel very fortunate 🌟. In Bogotá, we participated in the Cerros de Bogotá lecture organized by
@cerrosdebogota and had the opportunity to met with Diana Wiesner
@dianawiesner_ and Diana Salazar, renowned Colombian landscape architects! This was perfect for expanding our Latin Network! Qué siga el Merequetengueo! In Quindío, we visited MaFe’s family, went to the cloud forest, and held a workshop with the children at an elementary school called A 8 manos. In the workshop, we talked about migration, landscape architecture, spirituality and began to dream up a restoration plan for the stream that runs through the school 💚 Thank you for inviting us
@aochomanos We spent most of our time in Putumayo. What a magical place! We were enchanted by everything and can’t wait to return. There, we had the opportunity to spend time with wonderful people, visit incredible landscapes, listen to the territory and its communities, and envision two projects we would love to support and work on!
