We had an amazing time experiencing our first trip to the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas this past week!
From connecting with great vendors to sampling incredible products, it was an unforgettable experience. We also took advantage of several educational classes to continue sharpening our skills and bringing even more back to our craft.
One of the highlights was cheering on a fellow Michigander, Michael Baldwin from @testabarra , at the International Pizza Championships. He earned an impressive 2nd place in the Non-Traditional category—an incredible accomplishment against some tough competition.

I was hanging out at Social District in St. Clair Shores when I came across Bart’s! Not gonna lie, the smell of fresh tomato sauce, garlic, basil, and charred crust led me right to it.
Nostalgia hit as all those smells reminded me of countless pizza parties at my uncle’s house growing up, the pepperoni rolls my grandma used to drop off, and the memories I’ve made with my son making pizza together.
It’s funny how from the moment my nose caught a whiff, I had a good feeling I’d enjoy this pizza if it was executed right, and it sure was.
A brick oven cooked crispy thin New York style crust that holds up to the toppings, which weren’t overloaded because that alone can ruin a good crust.
I had the spicy ricotta pizza with cheese, pepperoni, fresh ricotta, basil, and hot honey. Amazing combo.
Lil man got the cheese pizza and rated it pretty high! Hard to argue with him since he considers himself an expert on all things pizza.
I’ll definitely get Bart’s again. Nostalgic, flavorful, and fresh. You really can’t go wrong.
