The leap comes in the 20th century: Mural graffiti becomes the pulse of New York in the 70s. The rebellious labels of the 80s explode into masterpieces, and art reclaims its wall.
The ‘90s–present: Street art enters the mainstream. Evolving from letters to narratives, stencils, and complex murals, artists like Cornbread and Banksy become symbols of the transition.
🌆 Stages of mural construction → Ingredients
1.🧱Rooibos tea + riboflavin + Benedictine: The infusion of rooibos tea with Benedictine complements the aroma of honey, wood, flowers and citrus, and riboflavin (Vitamin B2) visually creates the "NEON base of the mural" - the first step in building a mural: defining the chromatic and luminous base.
2.✎ᝰAcidify Oleo Banana: This is the connecting link between surface preparation and detailing. It comes as a bridge with the same honey note, but acidifying with verjus changes its outline, making it fluid, like the freshness of a green fruit.We move from the foundation of the mural to the clear outline of the taste.
3.🎨Bols Melon: Vibrant emerald green, almost neon – the mural is complete. After surface prep and fluid contouring, pure color arrives: it shines, defines, and seals the aromatic composition. Bols Melon adds ripe melon, floral honey, green apple, pear, and banana.
🥃 90’NE0₂ Cocktail concept.
I created a cocktail that follows the stages of a mural painting, using edible paint on the rim of the glass. The drink is consumed in a precise order, just as if you were painting step by step.
Base (purple paint) – prepares the surface: floral rooibos + butterfly pea. The foundation of the mural.
Sketch (red paint) – acidify oleo banana: comes over the base, outlines the shape and fluidizes the transition.
Finish (green paint) – Bols Melon: emerald green, vibrant, closes the composition.
Each layer contains an aroma found inside the drink, highlighting the common notes and creating a continuous curve of taste.
The result? A liquid mural – a painting you don't look at, but drink. Every sip is a brushstroke.
