After six long years, we can at long last announce the release of our fifth album, Antinomian Asceticism, through @w.t.c.productions . Born of strife, deepest introspection, and the product of countless hours spent on refining every last detail.
Along the way, we were beset by a series of delays that could not be helped in any way, and it seemed as though the album was cursed to never see the light of day at times. Yet, today, what was ours alone is now yours too.
The reception that we've received so far has been nothing short of explosive, with our share of LPs selling out during the pre-order period. Copies still remain over at the WTC webstore, so head over there to order if you missed out.
Finally, a word about the CD version and merch: these will be available soon, there was a slight delay due to the pressing plant, but we have been assured that they are poised to arrive next week.

From the outer fringes of blackened global scenes emerged Barshasketh, a project forged in 2007 and now rooted in Edinburgh, Scotland, after originating in Wellington, New Zealand. Guided by the vision of Krigeist (KG), the band has spent nearly two decades refining a form of black metal steeped in occultism, adversarial spirituality, and the cold distain of the genre’s second wave.
What began as a solitary endeavor evolved into an international entity with a shifting lineup, drawing collaborators from across the European underground, including musicians connected to projects such as Abyssal and live ranks of Thy Darkened Shade.
With devotion channeled through an unwavering vision, Bashasketh's auditory sermons build layers of counterpoint riffage, thick atmosphere, and angular driving battery, scoring cerebral themes of the left-hand path, metaphysical transformation, and existential struggle. The result is a viscious and exhilarating black metal harnessing both the traditional spirit and ascending evolution. After nearly 20 years of refinement, this is most truly realized through their latest offering, Antinomian Asceticism released on the infamous World Terror Committee
At Covenant XI, Barshasketh brings this sinistral vision across the Atlantic to Canada for the first time to expose an unsuspecting audience to the fruit of seeds deeply sown in the darkest knowledge.

A year has passed since Antinomian Asceticism was released. Upon the closing of its first arc, we’ve united with Totenkult and Catismandua to create a lyric video for the title track. Consider it a ritual echo of the album’s original invocation.

As the year winds down, it feels right to take stock of what has been a year of relentless movement and growth for Barshasketh as we look toward 2026.
First, our gratitude to those who have stood with us. Antinomian Asceticism found its strength through your support, and we don’t take that lightly.
Respect as well to the promoters who brought us to stages across the UK and Europe- those who still champion underground music and keep it alive.
We open 2026 with three UK shows in February, joined by our friends in Krypts. Event links cab be found in our linktree.
While 2025 saw us primarily focused on Europe, 2026 will take us across the Atlantic for a series of exclusive appearances. More to come- watch this space.
