Recently, Governor Tony Evers visited BARR school Superior High School in Wisconsin to see the BARR model in action.
Visits like these shine a light on the incredible work happening inside schools every day — where educators, students, and staff are building strong relationships and creating environments where students feel connected and supported.
Thank you to the Superior High School community for sharing your work, your students, and your commitment to supporting every learner.
Meaningful change happens when leaders have the opportunity to see this impact firsthand.
Maine holds a special place in the BARR story. As the second state to join the BARR network, Maine took an early step into something transformative. Now, with more than 120 BARR schools across the state, that initial step has turned into a powerful movement.
We’re deeply grateful to Representative Brennan for his instrumental role in helping secure funding to continue providing BARR services across Maine. His belief in students and educators continues to make a lasting impact on schools across the state.
Because of the dedication of Maine educators, leaders, and state officials, students are being seen, supported, and connected in meaningful ways every day.
Thank you for believing in what’s possible when schools put relationships and data at the center!
A powerful moment we won’t forget.
We’re so grateful to the Tasunke’ Witko Owayawa Lakota Drum Group & Singers of Crazy Horse School for sharing their voices, traditions, and talents at the BARR National Conference last month.
Students in grades 5–12 traveled from Wanblee, South Dakota to Rancho Mirage, California, bringing with them deeply rooted cultural practices centered on renewal, harmony, and connection.
Their performance was more than a moment on stage — it was an opportunity to learn, reflect, and experience the strength of culture and community.
Thank you for sharing this with the BARR community.
Concluding Teacher Appreciation Week with a reminder that captures the heart of this work. 💙
“My teacher knows me, not just my work.”
This is the purpose of BARR. Through intentional structures like U-Time, Small Block, and team collaboration, educators have the space and support to truly know their students — not just academically, but as whole people.
And when students feel known, everything changes.
To every teacher making this possible: thank you. 👏
A keynote that stayed with us. 🎙️
We’re so grateful to Thomas Friedman for joining us at the BARR National Conference in April and sharing his perspective on the forces shaping our world.
A 3x Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times foreign affairs columnist, his insights on technology, globalization, and connection challenged us to think bigger — and reminded us of the role schools and communities play in preparing students for what’s ahead.
Thank you for helping us reflect, rethink, and reimagine what’s possible!
Happy National School Nurse Day. 🩺🧡
School nurses are often the steady, trusted presence students turn to — offering care, comfort, and support in moments big and small.
At BARR schools, we know student success is about more than academics. It’s about making sure every student is seen, supported, and cared for — and school nurses play a vital role in that.
Thank you for the compassion you bring and the relationships you build every day. 👏
A moment we’re still thinking about! 🎶
We’re so grateful to the Hemet Elementary Honors Choir for sharing their voices at the BARR National Conference this year.
This incredible group of 4th and 5th grade students — representing 16 schools across their district — brought energy, heart, and so much joy to the stage.
After months of preparation, their performance was a beautiful reminder of what happens when students are given the space to shine.
Thank you for sharing your talent with the BARR community — you made this gathering even more special.
To the educators who show up each day with care, creativity, and an unwavering belief in their students — thank YOU.
You build relationships that matter.
You create spaces where students feel seen and supported.
You do the work that makes everything else possible.
At BARR, we see the impact you make — in the classroom, in your teams, and in the lives of your students.
We’re so grateful for you this week and every week. 🫶
Happy National School Principals’ Day! 🍎🎉
To the principals who lead with care, clarity, and commitment — thank you.
You set the tone for your school communities, support your staff, and create environments where students feel seen, supported, and able to succeed.
Your leadership shapes culture. It builds trust. And it makes a lasting impact on everyone who walks through your doors.
We’re so grateful for all that you do — today and every day.

A powerful moment to remember. 🇺🇸
We’re so grateful to the Moreno Valley High School Air Force JROTC Color Guard for presenting the colors at the BARR National Conference last week!
Their professionalism, confidence, and presence set the tone for the day — and left a lasting impression on everyone in the room.
Programs like JROTC build leadership, teamwork, and purpose, and these students embodied all of that and more on stage.
Thank you for sharing your talent and representing your school with such excellence. 👏
Happy School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! 🚌💛
To the bus drivers who start and end each student’s day with care — thank you.
You are often the first smile, the steady presence, the familiar face that helps students feel safe and welcomed before they even step into the classroom.
Your impact goes far beyond the ride. You help set the tone for the day — and that matters more than you know.
We appreciate you today and every day.
600+ educators. One shared purpose. 💙✨
The 2026 BARR National Conference brought together an incredible community of people committed to something bigger than themselves — building relationships, strengthening systems, and supporting every student.
During our time last week, we learned from one another, shared what’s working, and left with renewed energy for the work ahead. This photo captures more than a moment — it captures a movement.
We’re so grateful to be in this work with you.
