2019 Pax Mission + Gochujang Meatloaf Sando
This red wine is one of the clearest modern expressions of California’s oldest wine story: it is made from the mission grape - the first vitis vinifera brought into the Americas by Spanish missionaries as early as the 16th Century. Somewhere between a pale red and a dark rosé, Pax’s chillable bottling is part of the revival of forgotten heritage grapes.
Pair it with: Our Gochujang Meatloaf Sando! The light tannins are friendly with heat, its brightness cuts the rich meat, and the earthy spice in the wine complements fermented chili complexity.
Everywhere Meets Here.
Bar None is a celebration of North American Wine and White Bread Sandwiches. A reminder that the best stories - and the best wines - are often written on the road between places.
Join us Wednesday - Saturday, 5:00pm - Last Call
2023 Lieu Dit Cabernet Franc + Monte Cristo Sando
Lieu Dit was founded by Sommeliers committed to bringing restrained sensibility to Coastal California wine. Their Cabernet Franc comes from cool-climate sites with ocean influence in Santa Ynez Valley.
Pair it with: Our Monte Cristo Sando! Bar None’s current featured Sando created by Chef Jeff. The tart raspberry acidity in the Cabernet Franc slices right through the juicy ham in the Monte Cristo Sando, while its herbaceous edge hones in on the funky, complex charm of Muenster cheese.
Bar None puts North America’s next generation of wines at the center of the table. From Valle de Guadalupe to the Oregon coast, our list will champion the continent’s most dynamic sites and forward-thinking winemakers: those risk-takers rewriting the rules of where great wine can come from.
