More #twingo I was very adamant about getting a yellow car, hopefully you can see why. It’s been really nice to see everyone’s support for Renault as they carved a new image for themselves over the past few years. And it’s been nothing but a pleasure to be there to capture so much of it, in such amazing places. Thank you @renaultuk - you guys are the best. (Not an Ad, I don’t get paid for these trips, they’re just good people)

BRING BACK MONOCHROME…. Mostly because it’s just about the only thing you can do to save a bad day of taking photos. Had abit of a mess at Rollhard last year and didn’t really manage to capture what I normally aim for. It’s my favourite show of the year but I was going through abit of a creative meltdown during show season 2025 and I didn’t quite manage to snap the usual gold. So here’s me attempting to salvage some terrible photos by just ruining them in the edit suite. I’m also stuck on a train at time of writing and I’m bored out of my mind. Greater anglia you can stand on a Lego brick. Looking forward to SS26 though - might even present a car this year, wouldn’t that be novel. I’d like to get back into releasing more content this year (as I say every year) but with work ramping up (which is amazing) I’m not sure I’ll have the usual unemployment hours to get behind the laptop. We shall see. Maybe it’s time to start experimenting. Who knows. Got a V6 to shove into the mx5 and bigger projects than I ever thought possible - I’m a busy guy now. Ramble over. Until next time …

In my eyes, the star of the trip. Tom’s Audi S5. BC’s, big brakes and a ported blower makes for an absolutely fantastic track and fast road experience in this baby super saloon. I’m lucky enough to have been in and around some incredibly fast cars but nothing has terrified me more than sitting in the back of this thing to catch some driving clips. Love this car. 10/10. #audi

Everytime I make it back here I wonder why I ever bothered leaving... If you don’t come for the cars (which is abit strange) come for the scenery. Everyone bangs on about how cool the ring is but the German countryside has to be one of the most beautiful places you can drive anything with wheels. It’s tricky to photograph this place without leaning into the ā€œpure motorsportā€ style of imagery but it’s making for a nice challenge on this little group driving retreat. #nürburgring

Ladies and Gents, the cat is out of the bag. It’s V6 time baby. I’ve not been overly subtle about this but it’s hard to keep things quiet when you’re this excited about a new project. This little MX5 has been the best purchase I’ve ever made - these cars can be a bit of a running joke amongst our extended community but deep down everyone that’s driven one knows how unbelievably good fun they are. They’re just lacking a little oomph. Hence… the V6. I won’t give away every detail yet as the project has been set back a few times now but consider this a small step of self accountability. It will happen before the summer is out and I can assure you, you’re not ready for where we’re going. For those interested it’s a K8DE from a Mazda MX3. Very graciously supplied by @chapman.cheng Stay tuned and stay frosty Until next time…

Just a whole bunch of Frogs 🐸 Thanks again to @renaultuk for the invite to Ibiza to drive and capture the new Twingo. Everyone’s favourite silly little French hatchback. Driving impressions wise, it’s fantastic. Buy one. Simple as that. I also got a signed sketch of the Twingo by the exterior designer himself. Huge flex. #twingo

The Frog is back 🐸 The Twingo returns in a cute little EV package and I love it from bumper to bumper. Spicy margs, Funky cars and a freezing swim. Fantastic little weekend getaway. Thank you once again to @renaultuk for the hospitality on another amazing trip.

If ā€œPresenceā€ needed a visual definition I think this would be the ideal candidate. Equally intimidating as it was cool to see in the flesh. Insert ā€œhow it feels to join a motorway in an mx5ā€ joke somewhere

The new Type-R is just *chefs kiss* šŸ¤ŒšŸ» In my short time before Christmas lending a hand at 7Days I had the pleasure of shooting this stunning FL5 Civic Type R - A car that’s already stunning in its own right. But after they let Joe loose with some simple tweaks and a set of dark chrome TE’s, it becomes a whole different animal. Come on - just look at that. Bright blue on red is quite a heavy hitting colour combo but somehow it just works (nothing on green over tan of course but sometimes louder is better) You might be able to see that these photos have abit of a different feel to them, you also might not. But either way they were edited predominantly using profiles rather than presets. Something thats relatively new to me but a welcome addition to my workflow nonetheless. From what I understand it’s a different approach to raw photo development from the ground up - focussing on the way the raw data is converted rather than tweaking the output levels of the existing conversion recipe. It’s definitely not applicable to all types of work but for now I’m quite excited by the possibilities this opens up. Stay tuned… Finally, a small piece to say thank you to 7days for providing me with work over the past few years. It’s been quite the journey working with them on various aspects of their content creation but I love working with the team there and I owe them a lot when it comes to doing this photo video nonsense full time and I’ve never really thanked them for it. Good lads, the lot of them. Do we like the FL5?

Give men snow and driven rear wheels and they will inevitably act like children. Don’t worry - this was all done on a muckpad in the middle of nowhere. We like to have fun but it’s important to remain safe and sensible. And most importantly - from the video guys perspective, remember to quit while you’re ahead. Get some cool shots and pack it up. I would say I wished id had my Mazda out to have some fun in the snow but my frame rails will thank me later. Happy new year all x
