Jewish community in London under “alarming, disgusting and growing assault”, says Lib Dem London Spokesperson
Responding to the news that two Jewish men have been seriously injured after being stabbed in north London, Liberal Democrat spokesperson for London Luke Taylor MP said:
“I’m alarmed at the reports of yet another attack on Jewish residents in North London this morning. This epidemic of antisemitic violence in North London is spreading and can no longer be treated as a few isolated cases.
“The Jewish community are under an alarming, disgusting and growing assault that threatens the fabric of our city.
“It’s time to deploy even more police resources to these communities and step up efforts to identify and reach people susceptible to this kind of dangerous violent extremism, so that the right interventions can be made, be they through police action or engagement with education, community leaders or social services.”
Meet Dr Sarah Hoyle; your Liberal Democrat candidate for Childs Hill, Barnet! 🔶

A true community champion, Sarah has spent months going door-to-door listening to local residents. She’s heard it clearly: people want safer streets with more community police, a cleaner Barnet that tackles fly-tipping and common sense for our traffic and parking system.
Sarah’s record speaks for itself. She has volunteered as a school governor, served as a Trustee of a local food bank, and sat on the Board of an NHS Trust. She founded a charity supporting young people’s leadership development and creative careers and has worked in the community for over a decade.
She works hard, listens and challenges when necessary. And she’s proven - she gets things done.
If elected, Sarah will bring her passion, energy, and track record of community service to fight for residents, standing up to crime, fly tippers and poorly planned traffic schemes, and championing housing and social care for those who need it most.
You have a choice, on 7th May 2026, vote for a hard-working Liberal Democrat who will give Childs Hill in Barnet a strong voice. 🗳️

Our response to todays antisemitic attacks in Finchley
.uk/news/article/senior-london-lib-dems-call-for-decisive-action-after-attempted-antisemitic-attack-in-north-london
Responding to the news of an attempted arson attack at the Finchley Reform Synagogue in the early hours of Wednesday 15th April, Liberal Democrat spokesperson for London Luke Taylor MP said:
“It is heartbreaking that the Jewish community in London is once again coming to terms with an attempted antisemitic attack, just weeks after the events at the Hatzolah Ambulance Station.
“The rise of hate crime in this city is unacceptable and not inevitable - the Metropolitan Police need more resources to monitor vulnerable neighbourhoods and protect our communities.
“Those responsible for these attacks should have no safe haven in London. The Met acted at commendable pace to catch the perpetrators of Hatzolah, and I’m sure they will make every effort to do the same now.
“These hateful people must be found and brought to justice - anything less would be a betrayal not just of the Jewish community but of everyone in London facing the threat of hate, and of the values of tolerance and diversity for which our city stands.”
Liberal Democrat Group Leader on the London Assembly, Hina Bokhari, added:
“London must always be a city where people of every faith feel safe to live, worship, and belong.
“This attempted attack could have been catastrophic had those petrol bombs ignited, but even without that, its impact will be deeply felt, especially coming so soon after other attacks on Jewish communities and amid record levels of antisemitism.
“Solidarity alone is not enough, words on paper are not enough. We need decisive action to bring communities together, confront hatred wherever it appears, and ensure there is no place for this kind of violence and division in our city.”
