hello from the accidental hiatus i took! things have been kind of a roller coaster since the start of this year. But I’m really trying to take better care of myself. One of the big things i did in the name of self care was impulsively buying scalper tickets to go see Hayley Williams (literally my hero since i was 11) live in Nashville. And WHAT A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE! I went to a concert alone, and left with many new friends and a new outlook on life. I feel better, lighter, more inspired. Life doesnt look how i thought it would when i was younger, and i have no idea what I’m doing. But for the first time, i feel a sense of peace about the uncertainty. I’m taking more time to be with all my very dear friends and family. And even on my hardest days, I’m finding little things to make me smile. Idk how i survived to 28, but I’m so glad i did. I didn’t know i would ever feel so content. wilting 🥀 acrylic paint on paper mache! it was really fun making my own freeform canvas to paint on, hope i make myself do it more! This is also the most realistic style I’ve done in awhile. Kind of nice to reset with it every blue moon. Sorry I’ve been kind of absent with posting! My brain feels like it in another dimension. I’m still getting inspired to create, but its looking more like diy home decor, upcycling clothes, and writing at the moment. I have too many projects i want to do!!! Gah what a lovely problem to have! I’ve also been leaning a lot on my community lately. I have the best friends i could ever ask for - and it feels so odd after a lifetime of being used and manipulated by everyone who claimed to love me. I feel the need to pinch myself every so often because it does feel like a dream; I didn’t know life could be so rich. Don’t get me wrong, I still get depressed and miserable, but having a village makes it so much easier to weather. Idk, i just want to keep savoring the good little moments. We loooove a good collaboration, so when we had the chance to work with our friend @barnabebop , we knew we had to! We’ve been working on a series of educational videos for Head Start teachers about safe food practices, and we wanted to incorporate animation to give the videos more life. We asked Barnaby to create several pieces, using their talents of creating character designs, and they absolutely crushed it! We couldn’t be happier with how these animations turned out! The clients adored the characters, too! While we can’t share everything from the project, here is the intro animation that was created. Thank you, Barnaby, for helping us with this big project! We love working with amazing people to help elevate our own work.
