I feel so honored to be performing Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan Tutte at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Our cast is fantastic and the production by Michael Cavanaugh (departed) is simultaneously hilarious and moving. Performance #4 is tomorrow night!

Last week was NY Philharmonic. Tonight it’s the Cincinnati Symphony for Kevin Puts’ gorgeous piece The Brightness of Light, with my friend of 40+ years Renée Fleming. (You might have heard of her…) What a wonderful journey this has been. About 15 American orchestras and 25 performances (I actually lost count) so far. I feel so grateful to be a part of this!
What can I say about the woman who has given me our wonderful kids, and our rich life? I’m so grateful for Tina. She has been an incredible mother to our kids (and Grandma to our grandkids…when is Grandmothers Day btw?). I give her 87% of the credit for their success in life. She did a lot of it alone because I was always traveling. She has given them constant love, support and compassion . She made their lives so awesome, with fun and enriching activities. She provided a beautiful and comfortable home for us all. The result? Three mature adults who are loving, kind, thoughtful, humble, really smart and all-around wonderful human beings. Thank you, honey! I love you to death
Our girl Carin Gilfry just spoke at a press conference at the State Capitol in Sacramento in support of AB 412, a new bill which will enforce AI Copyright Transparency. We could not be more proud of her. Go, Carin!
The latest creation of The Baritone Bartender (me): “The Whirlwind of Your Passionfruit”. This is my latest themed cocktail, this time for the Sydney Opera House production of Brett Dean’s opera “Hamlet”. The cast appears (and sings!) in this video. As for the cocktail: it’s delicious! Basically a passionfruit margarita, made entirely from fresh juices, it has a wonderfully intense passionfruit flavor, and the garnish (cut from passionfruit rind) represents the Sydney Opera House!
