Iâm super proud of âFoldâ - making music with friends and family on this side of the world is something Iâve always wanted and will never take for granted.
Iâm stoked for the release party this Saturday at @planet.wax - our first event since moving to the UK and weâre being joined by those same friends and family

If you know me and @freezachin you probably know that we met cause we were on a lineup together where we got booked to play bashment and grime together back in 2016 (shoutout @loretta_mk for the booking). I drew for âGhetto Kyoteâ and the rest was history! Slide 2 is us that year đśđś
Although doing our own events was always stressful and especially since the pandemic I think itâs something I knew I would really miss when leaving Toronto. Looking through all these throwbacks put a huge smile on my face thinking about how much fun weâve had and all the memories that were made. Shoutout everyone who was on the âInnitâ Zoom, which had the funniest artwork ever in hindsight (swipe to see)
And this weekend we have our first small event in London! Like every other aspect of moving here itâs honestly hilarious to feel like an absolute rookie again, starting over even after decades of doing this stuff. But at the same time very thankful to still be exploring a life in music. When putting together the lineup we wanted to ask people who have shown us hospitality in our new home, invited us to share their platforms, and just encouraged us along the way.

ever since i was in uni iâve always had at least 2 jobs. most of the time it was because i genuinely wanted to, but not always.
i think thatâs something that i donât hear people talk about as much when it comes to wearing a lot of hats. i think itâs so cool we live in a time where you donât have to pick a lane and stay in it, but the flip side is that not everyone is doing multiple things because theyâre thriving, itâs because thatâs what survival looks like: gig to gig, project to project. the portfolio career is all fun and games until you have to manage the portfolio.
moving to london nine months ago and starting over has me reflecting on this heavily: how i want to spend my time, how i want to be perceived and, honestly, maybe how i actually perceive myself.
all this to say i was excited to be asked by @nicola_jdavies to join her next @insitu.njd live, where we will be discussing the multihyphenate mindset, as it feels super timely for many reasons. itâs happening this tuesday (24.03) from 7â10pm and rsvps are open now.
