Last waves of the day ✨
Maybe it’s just me getting older, but I can’t imagine a better Friday night than driving an hour to Malibu to watch daylight slowly shift from yellow, to purple, to orange, to black.
I fell in love with Malibu on September 9, 2011. My friend
@clotilderousseau and I had just landed from France to start our year as exchange students at UCLA. A family friend had kindly offered to host us in Malibu for the first couple of weeks—and I don’t think we fully realized how lucky we were. We spent our first few hours in LA on a boat cruising along the coast—swimming, floating, bathing in that California light. I was hooked.
Fifteen years later, Malibu still gives me that same feeling: a profound sense of peace, a deep reverence for the wilderness around us, and an indescribable taste of the American Dream.
Forever grateful to
@annie_kronen for sharing her piece of paradise with us, and to
@bobbylabonge32 for taking two Frenchies out on the water that day.
How lucky am I to call this place home.
