Bare Wines

🍇 Long time friend, man of the town and an all-round G @bare_wines deep in conversation about one of his concoctions. Born in the depth of South Africa to mixed heritage parents, Nico had been cultivating a core following in his current home town of Berlin. Over the years he’s carefully nurtured a relationship with a vineyard hidden in the southern hills of Czechia, helping to provide him with some incredible natural wine in the process. A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of being treated to a private tasting as well as a look at his secret stash, alongside a preview of some forthcoming bottles. As if that’s not enough, he’s just launched his pop-up spot in the heart of Mitte. If you’re in Berlin this summer be sure to check out the space and tell Nico you’re a friend of Black Wine Club. Well, well, well, Bare Wines bottle shop is open for biz from this Saturday till infinity (but def the summer, lol). From being invited to HVW8 back in the day and pouring our natural/ low intervention wines for Einhundert’s iconic hang outs to curating exhibitions, we hold this space close, so it just feels right to pop-up in the back room! Join us this Saturday (16.5) to celebrate with a few glasses, plenty of bottles, pizza, tunes & vibes. We’re there 16:00 - 21:00, tell your friends. From next week we’ll be open weekly, Wednesday - Saturday, 13:00-19:00. HUGE WEEKEND AHEAD We’re popping up for the next three days at EINHUNDERT: CODE SWITCH, a 3-day program exploring club culture beyond its usual physical space, taking place at the Adidas Sports Base, Schleusenufer 4, 10997. Pull through Friday (17–22), Saturday (18–00), and Sunday (17–22) for a cute selection of wines. We’ve got a few new things we’re excited to share with you and, of course, everyone’s favorite, DJ Tears. @deejaytears This one’s close to our hearts and we’re really blessed to be part of it. The EINHUNDERT crew have been family for a long time, constantly inspiring us and pushing us to do what we do. They’re an essential part of the Berlin scene and strong advocates for making club culture more equitable, so seeing them bring this big idea to life (they’ve been grinding) is really beautiful. 🥹 Head to their IG to dive deeper into what it’s all about...they can say it best. Though, we do want to shout out what really resonates with us and applies to what we’re doing in wine. The event explores code-switching [adapting language and mannerisms to fit social context] and how language can both create but also break down elitist barriers. It looks at how we can navigate the shifting landscape of this city and “open space for articulating new futures.” The wine world isn’t so different from any creative industry, and being part of this reminds us to keep our focus on breaking down those barriers, starting conversations and sharing our knowledge. And thanks to all y’all who’ve already been apart of this journey with us so far. So, we’ll be ready for some big chats with you all, and some nice wines. Head to RA to sign up to attend.
