Elisha tries, and friends stop by is a standup show where Elisha tries brand-new jokes between polished sets. (ticket link in bio)
About Elisha: Elisha Tan is a San Franciscoâbased comedian who made history as the first Singaporean to headline the iconic Punch Line San Francisco. Described as fun, quirky, and âa waste of money sending her to collegeâ (a direct quote from her mum),
Elisha turns the absurdity of navigating expectations placed on Asian women into sharp, deeply relatable, and slightly unhinged comedy. Her work has taken her across the U.S., Singapore, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, and the U.K., with performances at renowned clubs including the Laugh Factory, Cobbâs Comedy Club, and Broadway Comedy Club, as well as major festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Asian Comedy Fest.
She has also opened for Ahmed Ahmed. Elisha has been featured in Tatler Asia for comedy, and in Channel News Asia, CNBC, and The Straits Times for her career in tech.
Offstage, Elisha runs Average Foundation, a community fund supporting small social impact projects, and produces Am I the Asshole?, an interactive courtroom-style comedy show where comedians argue over petty, audience-submitted disputes.
Approachable, silly, and always up for snacks, Elisha is on a mission to spread joy through laughter.
âHalf Ripe is an open mic at MASS (995 Market St) for developed performers and the comedy curious. Stand-ups, clowns, and cries for help! Everyone gets five minutes!
âIt's a perfect place to test new jokes, try new bits, and make new friends. Folks are encouraged to provide feedback to artists who ask for it. Register for a spot using the link in bio!
