Honestly, every release stays surprisingly faithful to the original, with the biggest differences showing up in the shades of pink and the face screening details. The original’s soft pale pink lip shifts to a brighter 2009 pink, before going full hot pink slick in 2026 💖
The later releases also swap the original black pupils and lashes for the dark blue screening style — which really feels like peak late-80s Barbie energy.
The 2009 edition definitely leans the most deluxe. Released for Barbie’s 50th anniversary, she came with a second outfit (a faithful reproduction of Rockers fashion 1165!) plus extra accessories and packaging details that added so much play value and collector appeal.
Then 2026 arrives with that gorgeous new boot sculpt and the alternate version of the original box art… and WOW. The packaging alone is enough to sell it. Absolutely delicious presentation. 🎸💕
