🚨 The Greens are leading a Senate inquiry into intergenerational housing inequality 🚨 Australia is in the grip of a housing crisis, decades in the making and brought to you by successive Labor and Liberal governments who have made deliberate choices about who should hold wealth and property in this country. The result is a housing system marked by a deep, intergenerational rift that has divided Australia into the lucky few who will either inherit property or wealth, and those who may never own their own home. This crisis of housing inequality is fixable, and our inquiry is the first step. 🎤 Head to the link in my bio to share your story!

Labor’s tax changes aren’t ‘ambitious’ or ‘brave’, they grandfather in inequality. We’re in the middle of a housing crisis — we don’t need more tinkering around the edges. We need real change.

Labor’s clawing back some revenue from negative gearing & capital gains…while cutting $37 billion from the #NDIS and spending $53 billion on war. Feat. Senator barbarapocock #auspol #greens #budget2026

Senator @barbarapocock explains why Labor’s small changes to property investment tax breaks won’t touch the sides of the housing crisis. What do you think? #auspol #greens #budget2026 #housing

It was wrong then and it’s wrong now. The Greens have consistently opposed the North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment and we won’t stop standing up for our Parklands. #StopTheChop

🪓 Stop the chop Mali! The images of the trees being destroyed in Adelaide are heartbreaking, for an unnecessary golf course of all things! The Greens have written to the Federal Environment Minister calling on him to use his powers to halt the clearing in Possum Park. 585 trees are at risk. Labor needs to listen to the community and #stopthechop

Today is the 78th commemoration of the Nakba. In 1948, Palestinians were ethnically cleansed from their land, with thousands of people killed and over 500 villages completely destroyed. We have seen that the violence and dispossession by the State of Israel against the Palestinian people continues with illegal settlements in the West Bank and the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Countries like Australia must take action, stopping the two-way arms trade with Israel and imposing sanctions. There must be peace with justice.

Grannies in lockup. In @pmalinauskasmp chop em down state. This is Mij Tanith, much loved local author and poet, heading for the paddy wagon this morning at Possum Park. What are you doing Premier? Locking up Grannies who want to preserve our heritage listed parklands for the kids of the future, for our animals and nature? Chopping down massive, old trees on Kaurna land in the middle of our city to serve a deal that none of us have been consulted about / and no transparency about yet another deal? Stop the Chop.

Great to speak with Kalila from @cheekmedia.co about Labor’s housing “fix” (or rather lack thereof) in the budget. We’ve been clear - this budget keeps in place 95% of those property investor tax perks, and it does nothing for renters. This was a real opportunity for the government to actually step up and help people, but instead this budget simply feathers the nest of wealthy corporations and the 1%, and won’t fix the housing crisis.
