PIC Conference Kyiv 🌞 Just came back from Kyiv where I spoke at the illustration conference organized by my amazing Ukrainian friends and colleagues from @pictoric.ua 🧳 💫 and where I had a great exhibition in the beautiful premises of @mystetskyiarsenal gallery! What was it about?
At the conference, I presented results of my doctoral research on strategies of contemporary socially and environmentally engaged illustrators and comics creators. 🖌️ ✊ I was showing examples of both direct ways of visual activism as well as indirect approaches that are no less valuable - such as documenting, representing underrepresented or designing resource-efficiently. 💛 🐦 And I also got valuable input from the audience. 🤝
If you are interested in the topic, look forward to a book "The Pencil Tip" we are finishing right now with @artmap.cz publishing and @melisa_vaude as a book designer. 🌼🪩 It will be out by the end of the year, both in Czech and English!

Barbora Müllerová ve své básnické sbírce s fotografiemi Nory Třískové mapuje nemísta na okraji pozornosti – městskou divočinu, vágní terény, rumiště a křoví podél cest. V prostorech, kde puká asfalt a prodírají se křehké lodyhy plevelu, nachází drobné příběhy jejich lidských i mimolidských obyvatel.

Post-Conquista 🐉 (EN 👇) murál pro galerii Zeď v @meetfactory 🐉. Revize příběhů o dracích jako o symbolech pudů, sexuality, podvědomí a neznáma, který je potřeba vymydlit. Jsem spíš pro poznání a přijetí:-).
Není každej den posvícení, takže tenhle vobrázek tam nakonec nevisí. Do budoucna bych se ale chtěla murálům věnovat víc, tak vysílám tohle přání do vesmíru... 💚

This painting titled Post-Conquista is a mural design for gallery Zeď in Prague. 🐉 It's a revision of stories about dragons as symbols of instincts, sexuality, subconsciousness and the unknown worth just to be defeated. I rather vote for getting to know and accepting them:-).
I didn't win the tender, so this picture won't be realized. However, I wish to work on murals more often in the future, so I am sending this wish to the universe... 💚

Exhibiting at Bologna Children Book Fair 🔥 Thanks to friends and colleagues from @pictoric.ua my poster Anatomy of the Lust for Life got exhibited at @bolognachildrensbookfair 🍹. Lata Rides to Bologna! 🔥 I am showing the world the first pages of my new graphic novel about the first Czech pro horse rider Lata Brandis at gallery @parsec.bo in Bologna these days.

Although Lata's story is really inspiring and empowering, I didn't want to create just another historical bio comics, so I intertwined her life with an auto fictional narrative created from my childhood memories of her house and horses (as we are from the same village), experience of bullying and need of female role models... To underline that her striving for equality and her victories were important for all of us. 💛
