Red-naped ibis
The red-naped ibis (Pseudibis papillosa), also known as the Indian black ibis or black ibis, is a species of ibis found in the plains, agriculture fields and cities of the Indian subcontinent. Unlike other ibises in the region it is not found very often in waterbodies and is often found in dry fields, but are attracted more to areas that have more wetlands. The peafowl dance is a spectacular natural display primarily performed by male peacocks to attract female peahens. Beyond the animal kingdom, it is also a celebrated cultural art form in various Asian traditions, including Indonesia and China.
Rain Prediction: In Indian folklore, the peacock's dance is believed to summon the monsoon. While they don't actually control the weather, they are highly sensitive to humidity and barometric pressure changes, making them more active just before it rains.
Traditional Arts: The movements of the peacock have inspired ancient cultural dances, such as the Tari Merak in Indonesia and the Dai peacock dance in China, which dates back nearly a thousand years.

Two-tailed Spider (also known as a Tree Trunk Spider or Long-spinnered Bark Spider), likely of the genus Hersilia. Given that the photo was taken in Bengaluru, it is very likely the species Hersilia savignyi, which is common across southern India, including Karnataka. #macrophotography #trendingreels #spider #natgeoyourshot #natgeoindia
DAMSELFLY
Damselflies differ from dragonflies by holding their wings folded together over their backs when at rest, rather than outstretched.
Appearance: They have very slender, narrow bodies and eyes that are separated, unlike the large, wrapping eyes of dragonflies.
Habitat: These insects are typically found near freshwater habitats like slow-flowing streams or ponds.

The beauty of the self is reflected in it.
The Indian white-eye (Zosterops palpebrosus), formerly known as the Oriental white-eye, is a tiny, hyperactive songbird common across the Indian subcontinent. It is easily recognized by its distinctive white "spectacles"—a ring of tiny white feathers around its eyes—and its bright yellowish-olive plumage.
Appearance: A small bird (about 8–9 cm) with a yellow-green back, a bright yellow throat, and a greyish-white belly.
Behavior: Highly social and gregarious, they often travel in large, active flocks, sometimes mixed with other bird species.
Diet: Primarily feeds on nectar, small insects (like thrips), and berries. Because they visit so many flowers, they are considered important pollinators.
Voice: They produce a soft, nasal contact call that sounds like a "cheer" or a faint "zwee!" as they forage.
Habitat: Adaptable to many environments, including gardens, orchards, mangroves, and open woodlands.
Sunflower macro photography reveals the intricate geometric patterns and vibrant textures that are often invisible to the naked eye. Key areas of focus for these shots typically include
Fibonacci Spirals: The arrangement of florets in the center creates mesmerizing mathematical spirals.
Petal Texture: High-magnification shots can capture the velvety surface or dew droplets on the petals.
Pollen and Stamens: Extreme close-ups can highlight individual grains of pollen resting on the flower's surface.

HOVERFLY
The insect in the image is a hoverfly, often referred to as a flower fly due to its common presence on blossoms.
Hoverflies belong to the family Syrphidae and are known for their ability to hover or fly straight up, down, or sideways.
Many species in this family are mimics, sporting black and yellow bands to resemble wasps to avoid predators, despite being harmless.
They are significant pollinators and are also beneficial to gardens because the larvae of many species consume pests like aphids.
