Chi-Miigwetch to everyone who joined us this evening for the closing of my exhibit, Buck Skin Naked, at Longhouse Labs. I’m always so grateful for the overwhelming support from the KW community. Love you all.
Thank you Matthew for the flowers. ☺️
My Buck Skin Naked exhibit at Longhouse Labs (LLabs) has been extended until April 11, 2026. The collection, which first debuted in January 2026, features semi-nude and fully nude portrait photography spotlighting Indigenous and Afro-Indigenous bodies. My goal with this project is to celebrate "beautiful brown, round bodies" with all their natural variations, including scars and marks, and to challenge taboo societal norms around the body.
Later this year, I plan to shift my focus towards creating a photobook of this collection. As for the future, my aim is to continue focusing on nude photography to help build self-esteem and promote a feeling of pride within one's own skin. Longhouse Labs, where the exhibit is located in East Campus Hall, continues to support Indigenous artists through self-directed residencies.
Thank you to @quijanodehmanila@christoff.leroux.photography for this wonderful article.
I’m honored to share "Buck Skin Naked: The body as land. The skin as story".
This exhibition is a powerful exploration of the intersection of body, land, and story. Please join us for the closing reception on April 11th from 6pm - 8pm at the Longhouse Labs.
Location: 263 Phillip st. East Campus Hall

IndigiQueers, still trading furs, rejecting colonialism, and looking hot as fuck. Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️🔥

Finding someone who truly gets you is rare. Someone who stands beside you, understands your creativity, and supports the process without trying to change you. As an IndigiQueer person, that kind of connection feels sacred, rooted in trust and being able to show up fully as yourself.

My softness is the hold, my breath is the anchor, and I keep climbing.

The sky holds me up, and my queer body takes its place like it never had to ask.

When the marks fade, the wisdom stays, because sometimes we need to choose softness and affection in our lives. We need other ways to fill up our cup, to surround ourselves with light and color and the kinds of smells that remind us we are still here. The kinks will always be there, and they can still be sacred, but they do not get to be the only language we speak to ourselves. Sometimes the real scene is quieter: turning inward, listening, and letting tenderness lead. 🌹🪢📖
Today was installation day for my new exhibit, Buck Skin Naked, and I cannot explain how excited I am to finally share this new collection of portraits spotlighting Indigenous and Afro-Indigenous bodies. These images feel powerful, beautiful, and layered in a way that’s hard to put into words. The show will only be up for one month as I shift into working on a book later this year, a collection of my photography over the years. Please join us Monday, January 19 at Longhouse Labs for the opening, and you can find the event page in my link tree.
