Scroll to the end to find the entrance to the cinema of our Milan Duplex Penthouse Project. Hidden behind the dining room, the cinema reveals itself only when you know where to look. 🎬🍿 This is where the night starts… or ends. Photography: @giulioghirardistudio

The custom sofa arrives. One of those moments where the room finally starts to come together. Delivered in sections and assembled in place to respond to the scale of the double-height living space. Upholstered in flax linen. Softness against the architecture. @sedilia_london

Antique Curation – Antique #33098 Part of our @banda curation for @woven.is , this antique Mahal rug becomes the wrapping for our oversized calla lily bouquet. Handwoven and shaped by time, its distressed surface reveals softened motifs and irregular tonal shifts gathered through years of wear. Characteristic of Mahal weavings, the open field and larger-scale pattern allow the composition to breathe with ease. Available at bandagallery.com

The kitchen in our Milan Duplex Penthouse was originally not meant to be the main space in the home, but it naturally became the one everything revolves around. Designed around a central island in Calacatta Monet marble, the entire room is built to be used from every side, for breakfast in the morning, something quick during the day, or gathering with friends in the evening. Pietra di Trani flooring continues through, grounding the space, while bespoke oak joinery lines both walls, softened by fluted glass that partially conceals what sits behind. The marble extends across the worktops and shelving, giving the room a strong material identity. It’s a kitchen that wasn’t designed to impress, but to be lived in and that’s exactly what it became. Photography: @giulioghirardistudio

Antique Curation - Tapestries #12580 & #23164 Part of our @Banda curation of @Woven.is pieces, two antique tapestries are layered across a long table between columns, with one draped over the other to reveal shifts in tone, pattern, and scale. A single arrangement of calla lilies sits at the centre, allowing the textiles to frame the composition. Each tapestry carries a richly woven surface, where botanical motifs and softened colours emerge through age and use. The layering introduces depth and contrast, bringing forward the intricacy of the weave while allowing the underlying piece to remain partially revealed. Together, they demonstrate how antique textiles can be recontextualised, moving from wall to table while retaining their sense of history and material presence. Available at bandagallery.com @woven.is Photography: @michaelsinclair

A visit shaped by the city and the site. ✈️ Time in Milan is spent walking through our projects and reviewing progress, while also stepping out to take in the surrounding architecture, materials, and pace of the city. From historic facades to contemporary details, these references begin to inform how the project evolves. Between site visits, we spend time in galleries and museums, absorbing the city’s design culture and creative language. Each moment adds another layer, helping us understand how the apartment should feel within its wider context.

The staircase in our Milan duplex penthouse is fully realised in plaster, matching walls and steps in tone. A continuous surface, defined only by a precise shadow gap that traces each line. Sculptural, yet soft and light. 🌿 From here, the view opens onto the kitchen beyond, framed by steel and glass, maintaining a contrasting yet soft connection between spaces. Photography: @giulioghirardistudio

Milan Duplex Penthouse- The Staircase The staircase began with a raw metal frame, then layer by layer, hand-applied plaster softened its edges, introducing a sense of movement and shifting it away from rigidity into a sculptural form. The final gesture, a gently sweeping handrail fixed and finished by hand, completes the piece. What was once structural becomes architectural, rooted in the home’s Mediterranean language of warmth and softness.

Contemporary Curation - Distressed Silk in Ivory Part of our @Banda curation of @Woven.is pieces, the Distressed Silk in Ivory anchors a sculptural installation of classical busts, where a continuous drape moves lightly across the space, softening the composition and introducing a sense of flow. Hand knotted from pure silk in India, the rug is sheared to a low pile and treated to achieve a gently distressed finish. This process creates a soft abrash across the surface, revealing subtle shifts in tone that emerge through light and movement. The Ivory colourway allows these variations to sit quietly within the space, offering a refined base that supports the architecture without overpowering it. Available at bandagallery.com @woven.is Photography: @michaelsinclair
