My skins have morphed into figures, trees, memories and gatherings, each holds its own identity and place in the rhythm that unfolds in the studio.
I’m grateful to have a bit of time to reflect and create, whether it’s good work is truly personal, either way it’s authentic. Each skin I create and the following composition that unfolds is purely a conscious decision, a decision that I wholeheartedly own. JGD

Turning farm-sourced red gum into art is surreal. Our ‘Marley farm’ fosters creativity, aiming to inspire others. We dream of hosting fellow artists, sharing our space, and nurturing artistic expression in the not too distant future, when the hot waters flowing and the septic systems happy! These experimental sculpture’s are the first of many that’ll find their place along our kangaroo trails.
1- ‘Rain dancer’
Due to the area’s unique geologic structure, the weather is quite often all or nothing. Water is precious and every drop counts.
2- ‘Yuin lyrebird’
We’re fortunate to have these birds flitting about the bush from moss rock to thicket, so eloquent but quick, The eastern Lyrebird never sits still, though its the tail feathers that give them away, like an erotic gesture to the Grey Box gums.

This Marquet design that adorns our ‘shop window’ at Marley farm will be very soon brought to life and into an 8-metre glass awning for Macquarie University, flooding walkways with vibrant light and colour. Collaborating with the incredible @uapcompany and @curatorialandco was a dream come true. From ‘The Icarus dream’ 2 years ago to the current work taking shape, this journey has been breathtaking. ‘Cosmic Chaos’
Days spent with my beautiful talented wife @athenamooreplaisted chilling & collecting sea glass on the shoreline of Salmon Haul Bay, this body of work emerges at a site where accumulation, erosion, and time converge. Each fragment, smoothed by tide and weather, carries a quiet history of transformation, becoming both material and metaphor.
These works trace a new shoreline shaped by the accelerating presence of artificial intelligence. At this shifting edge, distinctions between the organic and synthetic begin to dissolve.
The translucency of sea glass acts as a lens through which knowledge, authorship, and perception are refracted and redefined into an alternate version.
Reflecting on modernity as both generative and uncertain, the works consider what is gained and lost as human intuition intersects with algorithmic logic. They offer a meditation on change, urging awareness of the fragile balance between technological advancement and the enduring rhythms of the natural world.
