Bit of a cheesy post to celebrate 5 years of a dream job I never thought would become my actual job!
I began designing fun alt posters under BAM.Create back in 2020 while studying for a graphic design MA part-time. But it wasn't until 2021 that I started taking on work and thinking about maybe doing it as something on the side while I looked for a 'proper' design job.
Here are a couple of highlights of my career so far:
1: My first commission was for the wonderful
@celineribard and her short Stagger 💖
2: In 2022 I had the honour of designing the teaser poster for Flux Gourmet for its Berlinale premiere. This was such a huge project both personally and professionally. Something that still feels unreal it happened.
3: I worked with
@park.circus.films and
@cineredis on artwork for their touring season of Pre-Code Hollywood! I've had the pleasure of working with them for the last couple of years on their seasons too as well as attending Cinema Rediscovered 📽️ the best festival!
4: In 2023 I began working on physical releases with the likes of
@ocn_distro and
@alteredinnocence !
5: This was also the year I first worked on some
@deafcrocodile releases 🐊
I designed some artwork for
@klassiki.online that became part of a rebrand.
6: In 2024 my artwork for podcast Beyond All Repair was up in Times Square!
7: worked with
@lunacarmoon on an alt poster for Hoard 🐀
8: In 2025 I worked on a couple of my favourite designs for local cinemas, first up was
@w_shed 's Melodrama season 🥀
9: I worked with
@invisiblewomen_archives on some rebranding 💕
10: designed artwork for
@chapterartscentre 's Lynch season ☕
This is just a small selection of the projects I'm proud to have been a part of and the friends I've made thanks to this job. Thanks if you've read this far! I'm off to have some cake 🍰
(Maki wore the hat for a minute and was compensated with chicken)
