Our supremely talented School of Art students are getting real-world experience in the Glick Center for Glass as they complete a commission for The Cantio Hotel.
The piece will include 14-foot tall sections of aqueous, multicolored glass sculptures installed in the hotel’s lobby. We can’t wait to see the finished project this summer!
The Cantio Hotel, which will be located adjacent to our new Performing Arts Center, is part of the University’s Revitalizing The Village endeavor.

Multi-Exposure images delicately balance light and contrast to expose a single frame with two or more photographs.
Nature is an inseparable component of what makes our campus so beautiful. Can you guess what Ball State locations were used to make these multi-exposure spring photos?

What cool skill did you learn at Ball State that was outside the “bubble” of your major?
How about putting a puzzle together 13 feet underwater? A few of our grad students worked on their scuba certification during their AQUA 220 Open Water Scuba class at Lewellen Pool this afternoon. In addition to being an awesome experience, our scuba course is a great tool for students in archeology, biology, criminal justice or rescue work.

🎶 BELL TOWER CHALLENGE 🎶 : We hope you are enjoying the well-deserved break! Here’s something fun to test your friends with - the latest Bell Tower Tunes challenge!
In part three, Shafer Tower plays the most popular, classic video game songs. Use the melodies or visual clues to guess the video game!
What would you love to hear Shafer Tower play while you walk to class?
#BallState #WeFly #Indiana #Music #VideoGames
Video Description: As different video game melodies are played via a bell tower carillon, we are given a visual tour of campus that includes Beneficence, Bracken Library, the Quad, the David Owsley Museum of Art, Christy Woods, the Scramble Light, and Frog Baby.
Throughout the video, shots of Shafer Tower fade in and out.
Some scenes at these campus locations have been altered to give clues as to what video game song is being played. First, writing on the Beneficence statue’s base has been replaced with a question mark framed within a square. Second, books are arranged in an incomplete, rectangular puzzle at Bracken Library. Third, the lighted walking sign at the scramble light has been animated to look as though the illuminated walking figure is running at high speed. Four, a circular light near a row of bike racks has a triangular pie shape removed from it and, nearby, bike racks have been colored red, pink, orange and teal. Five, a green pointy hat has been placed on a statue of a child in Christy Woods. Six, A painting in DOMA has been modified so that the figures in the painting have cartoonish faces and one of them holds a Wii remote. Seven, a jagged lightning strike tail has been added to the Frog Baby statue. Eight, an aerial view of campus has been modified to make it appear as though Ball State is a giant, ring-shaped space station.
In case you missed it this weekend, our men's volleyball team secured a thrilling victory on Saturday evening and advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA Men's Volleyball Championship on May 9. Our Cardinals are one of four teams left playing in the country! #ChirpChirp #WeFly
