By the end of the day, October 7, 2023, I knew where things were headed. I'm usually right about the things I want to be wrong about. I spoke out immediately at that time, much to the dismay of friends. I turned away from some. Others turned away from me. Here we are two years later, however and there's no end in sight to the suffering. Where is this "humanity" and "morality" everyone touts as their motivation? You tell me. My heart is brimming over with so many emotions, particularly anger. A fury so great, I'm almost ashamed as a human being for housing it. It was out of this despair and helplessness that I decided to create. It seemed an appropriate way to funnel my feelings into something that will make the world a little more beautiful at a time when it feels so cold. So, I reached out to my friend, NY artist Dahyun Kim, the most refined and articulate dancer that I know. I've had the joy of following her with my lens a number of times before. She kindly heard me out and generously provided my camera these powerful and fitting moments that reflect my innermost thoughts. There were many to choose from, but gathering these few together for this presentation has helped me maintain some sanity and hope that tomorrow will somehow be better than today. Thank you, Dahyun for your time, talent and compassion. Your patience too. I invite all of you to enjoy this sequence and join me in praying for PEACE everywhere.
