We are excited to invite you to the opening of the exhibition Bunnløs by Thora Dolven Balke Sunday 07 June at 13:00!
The show consists of two new large works, a photosculpture collage printed on glass panels and a sound and light installation, both inspired by the experience of vertigo. In the exhibition’s central scenography, speakers mounted in tall steel gates play a soundwork made in collaboration with composer Henrik Skram.
In connection with the exhibition opening, we are holding a summer party/ Sunday lounge in NOUA’s seminar room after the opening. There will be music with DJ Brut playing, cocktails, and opportunities to buy drinks from the bar. Open 13:30 - 17:00. Welcome!

Utstillingen består av to nye, større arbeider - en skulpturell fotocollage printet på glasspaneler og en lyd- og lysinstallasjon, begge inspirert av vertigo, som bilde og fysisk opplevelse. I kjernen av utstillingen spilles et lydverk ut av høyttalere montert i høye stålporter, et samarbeid med komponist Henrik Skram.
I forbindelse med utstillingsåpningen holder vi sommerfest/ søndagslounge i NOUAs seminarrom i etterkant av åpningen. Det blir musikk med DJ brut spiller, cocktails, og muligheter for å kjøpe drikke fra bar. Åpent 13.30 - 17.00. Velkommen!

VÅKNE - Grensen 12

After one month of workshop with architects dotA and Nao Kono together with demolition expert Sho Yamaguchi, students from Meiji University, Tokyo and NTNU will present their findings at the building Grensen 12, Gløshaugen. Grensen 12 has been dormant for years, now its layers of history - of people, construction and materials - have been carefully peeled back and brought to new light. The workshop is organized by curator Alexander Eriksson Furunes and myself, and is part of a movement to preserve and move the experimental building Skiboli at NTNU to a new location, to maintain an autonomous space for students and create a long-term space for art and gatherings as part of KOROs art programme for the new unified campus of NTNU. Together with dotA architects the students have spent the last weeks building a new structure to exemplify this possible future and how to gather there. Tomorrow at Grensen you can meet them, hear music by Michael Duch and taste miso soup.
KOROs art programme for NTNUs unified campus is curated by Alexander Eriksson Furunes, Marit K. Flåtter and myself, and will stretch until 2031 when the new campus is complete. Read more at website link in bio

«Three uncanny pinkish silicone bodies are hanging on the wall, recognizable from the experience of those standing in a crouching stance in the bathroom over the rampaging child: the sculptures have been cast from infant bathtubs. The title of the series, a polysemous word gravitas, refers to a description of someone, often a man, as serious and important of manner; in Portuguese, a language the artist and her translocal family speak due to their connection to Brazil, grávidas means pregnant, feminine plural.»
