Big win for our Nashville team! Baker Construction is proud to bring home a 2026 AGC Build Tennessee Award of Excellence for Society Nashville in Nashville, TN.
Located in the heart of The Gulch, this 17-story mixed-use development is helping shape one of Nashville’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Baker delivered the structural concrete scope, including below-grade parking, a mixed-use podium, residential levels, and a rooftop terrace.
Building in an active live-work-play environment required detailed planning, daily coordination, and constant communication with our partners. Despite weather challenges, strict work windows, and a nearby road collapse, the team kept the project moving without compromising quality.
This recognition reflects the grit, accountability, and collaboration behind the work. We are grateful to have partnered with Yates Construction and our trade partners to bring it to life.

Some careers follow a straight path. Others take a few turns and open doors you didn’t expect. Todd Reindel’s career is a little of both.
As a finance director, Todd helps guide the financial health of our Industrial East team. But he didn’t set out to build a career in finance. He started in the field.
A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Todd found Baker the same way many co-workers do: he was recruited by a friend. He left Cleveland, OH, for Gainesville, FL, where he served as a project engineer on a major healthcare project. His resume rapidly expanded from there with such roles as lead project engineer, project controls manager, document controls manager, and master scheduler.
With each move, he found himself pulled closer to finance.
“If you look at the overlap between those roles and finance, it just made sense,” he says. “The evolution has been pretty cool.”
That willingness to step into something new was always met with the trust, resources, mentorship, and autonomy to grow.
“Baker doesn’t put up roadblocks,” Todd notes. “They’ve always provided the encouragement to learn. They will give you all the opportunity you want.”
Now, Todd brings that same mindset to his own leadership, investing in others and helping them find their path, wherever it leads.
Because at Baker, there’s no single way to build a career. But if you’re willing to take the next step, you won’t take it alone.

Safety Week might be coming to a close, but the conversations will not.
Across Baker, teams took time each day to discuss this year’s theme, “Recognize. Respond. Respect.,” and what it looks like in the work we do. Those discussions were a good reminder that we have the tremendous responsibility of being our brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, not just this week, but every day.
Because at the end of the day, safety is not something we check off a list. It is how we work. Let’s carry it forward.

Every co-worker has the right and the responsibility to speak up when something isn’t safe.
That’s what Incident and Injury Free means at Baker. Looking out for each other, taking action, and making sure everyone goes home the same way they came in.
Hear what Safety Week means through the lens of our people.

Recognize. Respond. Respect.
This year’s Safety Week theme is a reminder of what it takes to protect one another every day. It starts with speaking up.
Our Incident and Injury Free culture depends on co-workers who use their voice and take action when something isn’t right.
Hear why that message matters.

Safety Week is a chance to recommit to our Incident and Injury Free culture as one team.
At Baker, IIF is not a goal. It’s the standard we live every day.
Hear from our safety leaders on why this week matters and how we stay focused on what comes next.

Safety Week starts today. Across the country, construction teams are taking time to recommit to what matters most: sending everyone home safe.
At Baker, Incident and Injury Free is not a goal. It is the standard we live every day.
This year’s theme, “Recognize. Respond. Respect.,” focuses on what it takes to protect one another. It starts with speaking up, taking action, and looking out for the people around you.
Because safety is not a moment. It is how we work.

Upgrading critical infrastructure requires more than new equipment. It takes the right approach from the ground up.
At the Little Miami Solids Disposal project in Cincinnati, OH, Baker’s water and wastewater infrastructure team is helping modernize solids handling at one of the Metropolitan Sewer District’s largest treatment facilities. The new system will produce exceptional quality biosolids that can be land-applied instead of landfilled, while also generating energy to help power the plant.
Our team is self-performing major scopes across the project, including earthwork, cast-in-place concrete, yard and interior piping, and the installation and commissioning of complex process systems. Bringing these scopes together under one team reduces handoffs, strengthens coordination, and gives the client greater control over schedule, quality, and overall project risk.
This is the kind of work that defines Baker Water. Practical solutions. Strong execution. And infrastructure built to perform from day one to serve communities for the long term.

Last month, founder Dan Baker was honored to join Ohio Concrete’s Trowel Talks as one of three guest speakers, sharing the stage with industry leaders to connect with contractors, students, and future builders.
His message was simple and direct: what we call The Baker Way started long before Baker Construction.
As a teenager learning the trade at his grandfather’s side, Dan picked up lessons about hard work, accountability, and doing things the right way. Those early experiences became the foundation for People, Honor, and Grit: the values that shape how we work and lead every day.
Those same values have guided how Dan has approached the industry from the very beginning. For decades, he has been a champion of building better structures and building better lives by creating real opportunity for people who have the grit to learn, grow, and carry the work forward.
That came through in his talk, when he advised leaders to invest in the next generation. He also reminded those just starting out that if they are willing to do the work, learn every side of the business, and earn their place, they’ll have a bright and promising career ahead of them.
If you’re ready to learn, grow, and build something that lasts, there’s a place for you at Baker. Check out bakerconstruction.com/careers/ to learn more.

Early in his career, Derrick Robinson was told his ambitions were unrealistic. Instead of backing down, he proved otherwise, becoming a foreman by age 22.
At Baker, Derrick redefined what success meant. He made a bold shift from the field into project management, opening the door to new opportunities and growth.
With that shift came a new goal: homeownership. Through discipline, planning, and the support of a company that invests in its people, Derrick achieved it in January 2026.
“It was an incredible feeling to finally provide my family with the home I had wanted for them for so long.”
Derrick’s milestone is part of Baker’s 10,000 Keys initiative, a commitment to help co-workers achieve the life goals that matter most to them. Whether that means career growth, financial stability, or major personal milestones like buying a home, we believe success is bigger than the jobsite.
If you are looking for a place that will back your ambition and help you build what comes next, you will find it here.

Christian Valle did not come to Baker with a long-term plan. He was just looking for steady work.
At the time, Christian had been moving from company to company, following projects wherever they led.
“In those jobs, you had to start looking for work as soon as the current project was about to end,” he says.
He quickly found that at Baker, that wasn’t the case. When one project wrapped up, another was waiting for him.
Starting as a helper on a high-rise in Houston, Christian took every opportunity to learn. He began helping carpenters build formwork. Soon he was learning how to read drawings and plan jobs from the superintendents he worked with.
“I wanted to learn new skills and gain more experience,” Christian says. “I believed that the more you know, the more opportunities you create for yourself.”
Nearly 20 years later, Christian is a general superintendent overseeing complex projects ranging from high-rise towers to semiconductor chip fabs. He takes pride in helping others grow the same way he did.
“Seeing co-workers I mentored grow into superintendents, opening new paths and opportunities for future work, those are accomplishments I take great pride in.”
Christian’s journey from field helper to leader shows how a career at Baker Construction can open new doors to the future. Ready to see where yours could lead? Explore opportunities at bakerconstruction.com/careers.
