Baker Electric was proud to partner with McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. this weekend for an event focused on introducing high school students to the many rewarding opportunities available within the construction industry.
Students had the chance to explore both field and operations career paths while learning how engineering and construction careers can lead to impactful roles across the industry. Through hands-on activities and interactive stations, students gained valuable insight into the skills, teamwork, and innovation that drive construction forward.
It was inspiring to see the students so engaged throughout the event, especially the young women who were excited to discover they could confidently step into skilled trades and succeed in this field.

Last night, Baker Women in Construction had the honor of attending the 67th Annual NAWIC Celebration, marking six decades of empowering women in construction. Eight team members from Baker were proud to represent and be part of such a meaningful evening.
It was an inspiring evening that truly highlighted the power of women supporting women and what’s possible when we lift each other up in genuine sisterhood.
We had the privilege of hearing from four past NAWIC chapter presidents who shared powerful stories about the organization’s beginnings, the legacy built over the past 60+ years, and how NAWIC has shaped their personal and professional journeys. Their reflections were a meaningful reminder of the impact we can continue to make as we carry the torch forward.
A big thank you to the NAWIC San Diego chapter for hosting such a memorable and impactful evening. #NAWICSD
