I wanted to share a topic I’m becoming more passionate about every day. Financial literacy in the music community for both artists and the music professionals. Most of us were never taught how money actually works. Not in school. Not at home. Not in the music business. We’re taught how to earn, but not how inflation quietly erodes purchasing power, how banks really operate, or how some of the same tools that trap people can also be used responsibly to build and preserve wealth. I’ve been down a rabbit hole studying money, inflation, Bitcoin, STRC, and long-term wealth building since 2019, and once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it. I’m not claiming to be an expert - I’m still learning every day - but the more homework I put in, the more I feel pulled to help bridge the gap between Bitcoin education, financial literacy, and the music community. That’s a big part of why I’m building @bakbitcoin . I want to start dialogue, spark curiosity, and make these ideas more digestible for artists + music professionals who want to think differently about money, earnings, and the future. A lot of people assume they need a lot of money to start investing or to build wealth. I disagree. I think people need accurate education, a simple system, time, and discipline. BTC is the foundation. STRC is the supporting layer. Bitcoin has a fixed supply, no issuer, no CEO, and no central authority—and over its lifetime it has delivered extremely strong compound annual returns, significantly outperforming every major asset class on a long‑term basis. That comes with real volatility in the short term, which is exactly why, in my framework, BTC sits as a long‑horizon asset, not a short‑term trade. STRC, issued by @michael_saylor ’s Strategy, plays a different role for me. It’s a higher‑yield, relatively lower‑volatility parking and income layer for cash that isn’t going straight into BTC. Its current annualized yield is around 11.5%, paid monthly in cash—meaningfully higher than most “high‑yield” savings accounts - though the rate is variable Not everyone needs both, but understanding the role each can play inside a broader wealth plan is key.
