I took a few references photos for this scene at the Walthamstow chip shop on a Friday night. Subsequently Banksy has added his own artwork on the side of the building. I took artistic license and changed the walls colour !

Pub Series No 2: The Colet Arms

One from a project I am intermittently working on. In 2023 during a six month period, 40 pubs closed in London alone. Social culture does change in the capital, but the loss of such a longstanding way of neighbourhood interaction needed some acknowledgement.
Seeing East End Pubs, care of Farrow and Ball, merge anonymously into residential streets, gave me the Idea to record some. Standing in front of one, with a special quiet twighlight atmosphere, inspired me.
Possibly you can hear those past sounds; someone singing, an upright piano, laughter and an ancient till, ringing up for a port and lemon! I have used their original pub names.
