This set was originally meant for RSG 2025. When we learned of the cancellation I knew that I was going to save the set for when RSG eventually came back. While we were given the opportunity to perform this for the
@_project_soup_ showcase which was an absolutely amazing experience (shoutout
@deborah_yeh ) the ultimate vision for this piece was always on the big stage.
This was the first piece I ever envisioned with visuals, and it was such a scary experience. I wanted to make sure that the visuals elevated the dance and not distract from it which I had seen so many times before. When making the original set I reached out to
@tj_animates to see if I could use visuals he posted on Youtube for the set and he said yes. Then he offered to make an entire custom animation for the set which was a dream come true.
A whole year later and we finally made it. Seeing everything come together for the first time when you’ve been waiting for over a year and a half to fully see the set is a dream come true.
