Meet Alé
Ale.ssandra is a multidisciplinary artist with many visions of dance and glass blowing and is the other half of BagCandy. They started their dance training in Florida and just recently graduated from the University of the arts in 2023 with their BFA. Although dancing is something they’ve loved their whole life, they have just recently formed a new love for Glass Blowing and is currently studying and working at East Falls Glassworks. They are always looking for new ways to combine dance and glass, because oddly enough they have so many similarities.
This duo holds a special place in their heart because of what a remarkable experience it is to exchange different dialects of dance language with not only their dear friend Matea but also everyone around them.
One of their main aspirations in this life is to get everybody dancing!

Meet Matea!
Matea Rae is a dancer and model from NY and Oakland, living in Philadelphia, and is 1/2 of BagCandy. She’s always had dance in her blood via her Bay Area dancing icon/goddess grandma. But she only began formally training dance a little over a year and a half ago, after a few years of training as a circus artist.
Matea specializes in hip hop, house, heels, go-go, and contemporary but loves to fuse all of her styles together whenever she’s jamming.
“What I love most about dance is that it’s a universal language. Anyone can do it and everyone can connect with each other through it. Dance moves through me like water and I just know I was put on this earth to let it flow and connect with others through it.” -Matea🌊
Matea is a professional go-go dancer at the Trestle Inn as part of @thetrestlespecials . She trains mostly at UMA @urbanmovementarts , Creative Reaction @creativereactionstudio , and is also a part of south Philly based dance company, Terpsichore. She doesn’t know where her professional dance journey will take her, but she’s excited to continue to watch it grow and flourish.
She loves nothing more than being able to share dance with the world alongside her best friend Alé as BagCandy🍬

A duo that blends contemporary and hip-hop movements, creating a unique and dynamic dance style with lots of personality. The fusion of these two genres allows for a rich and diverse expression of movement, rhythm, and emotion. Continually experimenting and improvising, BagCandy pushes the boundaries of traditional dance, allowing for spontaneity, creativity, and innovation on stage.
Each one of these performers is an individual; their own piece of candy in the bag. A surprise to not only the audience but also to each other! So much love and raw expression, always fleeting and not to be missed 🍬
