Situated somewhere between Rancid, Cock Sparrer and Rose Tattoo is the noise of The Mighty Thirst. Releasing their self titled debut in 2024, the group is a collaboration of friends who also happen to have previously lined up in noted bands such as The Business, The Beat, Argy Bargy, Booze and Glory, Knuckledust, The Filaments, Deadline and Clobber.
The resulting record is 10 inebriated tracks unashamedly aimed at the punks, skins and herberts - walloping you around the chops like Chas or Dave sniffed up on an away day. Knees up pianos meet sing along choruses and anthemic guitar work in these songs of London life that make you want to polish off your Doc Martens and head straight to the nearest boozer.
With their lively, joyful take on the street punk genre, The Mighty Thirst might just become your tipple of choice for the new year.
