After a million flights around the world I’m only now realizing there are really fun adventures just driving distance away. 📍 @scribnerslodge 📍 @huntermountain

All my biggest investing wins have come from companies I believe in and whose products I use. When @humesupernatural was started, @like_the_fish sent me a few sticks in the mail. Once those were gone, I instantly ditched the product I’d been using my entire life and started buying Hume at full retail price. It was an aha moment, and I knew right then that they had me hooked. Not long after, Blair asked if I’d like to participate in their Series A fundraising round. I couldn’t get my checkbook out fast enough. That was four years ago, in the spring of 2022. We didn’t have many retail partners at the time. I believed in the product—and even more in the team behind it. Now, launching in @target feels surreal. Going from such humble beginnings to being in one of the world’s biggest retail giants is incredible. I don’t do anything at Hume. I’m just an investor, and my job is to be a cheerleader. I’m super thankful for the incredible team at the office and factory who’ve worked their asses off to get us here.

Headed to NYC. I voice command the destination to my Tesla, push one button on the screen and I’m off and driving. It backs out of the driveway, navigates to the highway, deals with traffic, takes the exits, goes through the holland tunnel, handles lower manhattan easily, drives to the parking garage, waits for me to pull the ticket then laps the multi level garage until it finds a parking place and backs itself in. I never touched the wheel or pedals once in two and a half hour drive. It’s so wild. They have solved antonymous driving, it is done. It is just a march of nines from here. At 1.2 million traffic deaths per year world wide once this self driving technology really takes off it will be a massive life saver and huge benefit to society.

Should we talk about aircraft type? Or is that way too boring? When purchasing a ticket in economy and trying to upgrade to business, understanding what aircraft you are on and how many business class seats are available is super important and often the difference in if your upgrade clears or not. For the Olympics in Italy I found an amazing deal in premium economy at $1300 round trip where economy was $1100. Easy decision to make as there with 18 total hours of flying involved. The catch was that this flight was out of JFK, quite a bit further than my regular airport in Philadelphia. I was more than happy to make the extra effort because of that price in premium economy and the JFK plane had 37 business class seats vs the Philadelphia plane having 20. Nearly twice as many opportunities to upgrade. I will always drive to JFK or position myself on a shorter domestic flight if that means my long haul leg will be on a plane with way more seats. Instead of going the more direct route on a plane with less seats. More seats = more opportunities to sit up the front on an upgrade certificate. There is a massive gap between what planes have the smallest and largest amount of business class seats on each airline. Just looking at American airlines wide body jets, here is how many seats each plane has. 787-8 has 20, 787-9 has 30, 777-200ER has 37, 787-9P has 51, 777-300ER legacy has 52 and 8 in first, 777-300ER retrofitted has 70. You can see there is massive jump from the 787-8 to the 777-300ER of that 50 seats difference. If possible you would want to book yourself on that larger plane every time. By being on the 777-200ER vs the 787-8 I was able to clear both ways over a month ahead and slept stress free for that month not wondering if the upgrade would clear or not. Also slept freaking amazing on that plane flight to Italy! Side note: the dates of this trip being at the end of February lined up with the expiration of last years AA system wide upgrade certificates. I was short one certificate so a friend gave me one that was going to expire worthless. I had given a few AA last year so they wouldn’t expire worthless. Don’t ever let your upgrades expire.

Olympics in Italy? Don’t have to twist my arm behind my back to get me over there. I consider @markmcmorris a great friend and have never once seen him ride live in a contest. It felt like there was no better event than his 4th Olympics appearance for my first viewing. As the oldest competitor in the field and the only person to qualify for all four slopestyle olympics ever, I was assuming it would probably be his last go at the games. Italy looked like a damn good spot watch an event as well as go on a snowboard vacation with my wife @cristenseymour . After watching Mark bust his ass to get here, learn a new trick this year, win the X Games, get hospitalized and subsequently have to pull out of big air I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he would win gold in slopestyle. Guy is so damn clutch that on his final run I assumed it was his time to shine. When he slammed so damn hard on jump two I was beside myself. Instantly crying, couldn’t believe what happened. As I watched him ride down to the bottom of the course with his hand in the air and head held high those tears felt a little different. I realized they weren’t tears of sadness but tears of joy. Proud tears, so incredibly proud of Mark for reaching such great heights in his career. Joyful tears, joyful that I was able to come over to Italy and watch my friend compete at the Olympics. Thankful tears, thankful that I have the will and ability to live life at 100mph. It all compounded into that one small moment in time and I’m thankful for every bit of it. How many lbs am I packing on this trip? Italy might not be the best place to come to lose weight. 🇮🇹 🍷 🍕 ❄️

2025 was the 6th year of our investing contest and we have a new champion in @nathan_florence We couldn’t be more proud of him. Guy finished the year with a 50% gain on a full sized account when the S&P did 16%. He was in every great stock of 2025 including but not limited to $HOOD $PLTR $TSLA and $CELH. He had the golden touch. We are so freaking proud of Nate but even more proud in our ability to talk honestly and openly about all of our financial wins, losses and strategies. In a world that was built upon being secretive about money it feels great to buck the trend and talk openly about finance. Learning from each other day in and day out about how money works has been a godsend for me. I’d never be where I am today financially without these guys and their support. Forever grateful. I encourage you to get out there and have a swing at learning and speaking about finance with your friends and family. It ain’t easy and takes reps but will absolutely pay off in the end. Knowledge is power.
