This hammerhead design is very close to my heart. It was developed through extensive research, interviews with divers and environmental storytelling shaping every detail from concept to finish.
Recently, a hammerhead design has been released by a company I previously collaborated with. To avoid confusion, here is my concept and art process from start to finish. I had no part in the finished product.
I’ve been transparent and respectful throughout, and my goal here is simply to protect the integrity of the original work and the climate campaigns it's connected to.

I have a diver story for you.
In April '24 after experiencing the mass bleaching event whilst working on a research vessel. I painted this skateboard once back on land after spending my boat nights staring up and trying to reconnect with a positive feeling through nature.
It's felt difficult to find direct actions for the impacts of climate change on the reef, on our coastlines and peoples lives. I reached out to my community to see if others were struggling with this. Turns out many people were and they wanted to share/ find similar answers.
@diversforclimate have launched the first National Diver Survey, to give people a chance to anonymously share their views, and have this taken to those who make key decisions.

2025 thoughts so far...
1) Being around people who dont cuss makes me feel like I'm in an unsafe environment.
2) Mashed potatoes and meatballs SLAPS.
3) We're all just a bunch of creatures in human costumes. Embrace the weird.
4) Don't ever let a bitch tell you hot sauce doesn't belong on everything. They're wrong and you SHOULD fight them.
5) When you ask for NO onions on your burger, double check before you take the first bite.
6) It takes the right Time, Place, and Character to create a love story. Be sure you're writing it with your own pen.
7) Psychology is more infectious than the flu.
8) My daughter is the best human this planet has ever witnessed and I'll die on this hill 💙
9) Aparigraha: Non-greed. Non-possesion. Non-attachment is already my greatest lesson of the year.
